WTF Is Wrong With My Grain Prep

Below is a pic of wheat grain in a jar inoculated with pink oyster lc
As you can see nothing is growing
This jar was from the first batch of wheat which was boiled for 10 min till the first grains burst then left to steam off till no more steam was produced. All of 10ish pint jars sat (after inoc) for 2+ weeks till finally contam started to grow from inside the grain.
The second batch was boiled and allowed to steam off for about 5-10 min then loaded into jars while still a bit steamy on the bottom grains. Then pressure cooked for 90min @15psi. This was done in hopes of trapping in more moisture to aid mycelium growth.
Which unfortunately had no effect. No tams yet but no growth either.
The lc was made from a syringe purchased from out-grow and is growing just fine so I know the culture is alive.
What exactly am I doing wrong?

This is the prep I used except without coffee and gypsum. Oh and this is soft winter wheat only needs about 10-15 min boil before the first grains burst. Other than that all the same.

did u try soaking them before a boil for any period of time? usually its a 12-24 hr soak, then a 10 min simmer, then drain and shake for 30 min as steam is being let off the grains. Im sure ppl have success with just a boil but I'd say a common practice here is to soak/simmer.

It looks dry in that jar. Lots of swollen kernels, almost to the point of splitting. Maybe you boiled too long and cracked the kernels, releasing the sticky starches that suck up water.
If it's too dry, the spores won't fly.
Maybe do a 12 hours soak, then load some jars with no boil, 5min boil, 10min boil and 15min boil. PC em all and see if any take. I'm not sure how delicate wheat is, hence the spread of boil times.

5 jars of the first batch were from a out-grow.com lc syringe. The rest were from a lc I made from the remaining lc left in the syringe. Since it grew I don't think it's bunk could be wrong though.

So avoid splitting? I'd thought bursting was the only precaution? If that's the case all these jars should fail (bummer) since most of the grains are somewhat cracked or slightly opened.

I dont think the MYC is going to be picky in regards to split grains or not.
If theres moisture, which Im sure there is the myc shoudl've atleast shown itself -
I'd watch the jars, if NO contams come, and NO myc comes I'd call the syringe bunk and request a replacement.

I made a lc with the syringe and it grew lol.
The comment about splitting grain and starches makes perfect sense. This is why popcorn has to be washed after boiling.
