Thank you for sharing that. It seems that the modern world takes meat animals for granted. I've talked about slaughtering and eating my ducks, and people get all freaked out. Then I talk about how they take animals for granted and the fact that those store shelves that they get their meat from comes from huge confined animal feeding operations. In which the animals lead horrible sad lives, at least my animals get fresh air, sunshine, and lots of room (plus treats hehe) that make them very happy and healthy. At least I know how they were treated and at the very least where the fuck it came from.

So refreshing to read a post like yours. So much of the progressive blogosphere is tied up in the pseudo-spiritual, political-correctness-gone-wild condemnation of meat-eating.
Fanatic and semi-terrorist organizations like PETA do a large disservice in this area. Their virulent knee-jerk rhetoric totally turns off progressives like me.
I hope some of PETA's members are reading here, and reading your post.
