The picture is misleading as well, look closely and you can see that the gills are not really anastomosing like a chanterelle. C. odora has multi-tiered lamellulae. Compare the gill arrangement to other C. odora photos and you will see what I mean. The angle of this photo is creating the illusion.

Clitocybe odora is said to have a very noticeable anise smell, though. It's possible he didn't smell it because of the sinus infection, but apparently it's very strong.

Here is some pictures of the other one that was with it. The weather was dryer and colder so the blue doesn't show as much, might help some more.

It kinda looks like the Clitocybe odora but the cap is total different in the way that it is wavy funnel like rather then convex / circlular

Not Chantrelle like at all judging by this picture.. Look at that well defined stem. Polyozellus multiplex don't seem to have such a clear distinction between the cap and stipe. Everything I see shows very "Vase-like" growth with ridges rather than true gills.
EDIT: These two also appear to be much more tan, white and grey than OP's first picture.

The first picture was damp and wet from the rain, 2nd set of pics was dry for two days. I found water tends to bring out the faint colors more. Same mushroom though

Clitocybe odora. The first pics are confusing because some trick of light and shadow is making the gills look forked.

Thanks everyone for the help with this mushrooms seems like the over all response is the Clitocybe odora. I took one of them into work for people to smell and they said a faint licorice smell to anise as well.

Nice play! That's perseverance! "Hey man, smell this weird mushroom for me." Love it.
