My breakfast catastrophe
#19168888 - 11/21/13 07:59 AM (10 years, 2 months ago) |
|
|
So this morning I woke up and decided to make a real, good breakfast.
So I put three eggs on to boil. Then I poured myself a cup of coffee. I took two slices of high quality qinou break and popped them in the toaster. When the toaster popped I buttered the bread and lovingly lay slices of cheese on it. When the eggs, perfectly soft boiled, were finished, I scooped them out and lay them on top of the buttered cheese bread. Viola- a magnificent breakfast. So I go to open the garbage can and throw out the shells. As I do so the lid hits my plate and drops both butter-egg-cheese- breads flat on the kitchen floor, juicy side down of course.
I start in disappointment.
After a moment I say "fuck this, I am not doing all that shit again. Plus, think of all the starving people who would cringe to see me throw away this food that they would kill for."
So I salvaged it and ATE it even though it was face down on the kitchen floor. And it tasted good.
Now I am going to go eat some raw garlic to kill any bacteria that may have gotten in to my stomach.
Would you have done the same?!
Now I am going to have a little sit down and plan what to do with the rest of my day

I actually met the love of my life recently. We had the best sex of our lives! The next morning I woke up and she was not in bed. I got up and looked out the window, hoping maybe she was sitting outside smoking a cigarette. Instead what I saw... was this

Ill never know why she took her own life. She was so beautiful.

the other day I severely fucked up my hashbrowns by putting too much oil in the pan and they fried all the way through, I tried eating about half of them before feeling nauseous for the rest of the day.
I take pride in my ability to cook breakfast food so when I mess up hashbrowns or break a yoke/overcook a fried egg I get really mad at myself.
I NEVER fuck up the bacon though, but I don't know how you really can.

Honestly I don't know how I could go on without her if it wasn't for my baby kitten mr. cuddles
He is the sweetest little baby and I know I need to be strong for him. I am his mommy now and as long as I have my little snuggle bear I know things will work out alright.

I think it's absolutely great what you did. I can't see food go to waste, it's actually why I don't hang out much with my friends anymore. You'll never see me with leftovers on my plate, it's the absolute minimal amount of gratitude you can show for the person who cooked for you aswell as where the food came from in the first place. According to Dave Asprey, the bullet proof executive, soft boiled eggs are healthy but hard boiled eggs are unhealthy, due to some transformation of the cholesterol or something that happens when the yolks are cooked hard. To me soft yolk tastes delicious and hard disgusting.
As for eating them off the floor, yes, super gross, but I did it because A. I couldnt bring myself to go through that whole process again and B. I didn't want to waste food with all the starving children
The risk is basically lots of germs and bacteria from the floor now on my food.
However garlic is a potent natural anti-biotic that kills germs and bacteria very effectively, so eating a clove or two of well chewed raw garlic after should easily kill off any harmful germs that got on the foot.
Plus, ten second rule.

why are runny yokes so gross in your opinion?
I think runny egg whites are fucking disgusting, but imo when the yoke solidifies the egg becomes too dry for my liking.

Its like eating thick, warm, egg flavored water. Once there cooked all the way they develop more flavor, and there also solids. Though my favorite way to eat eggs is scrambled. In fact I think I'm gonna go make a scrambled boiled egg now, I've never tried one, but this thread just reminded me of them, brb.

runny eggs are fucking nasty and = diarrhea..thats why none of the fast food chains make runny eggs in yer breakfast sandwich(I don't eat fast food)that because the majority of people don't like soupy ass runny yolk getting everywhere, plus it has a slimy nasty texture. I tried to like over easy eggs recently too,and I just hate that gross slimy texture of uncooked yolks

nothing better than a fried egg on a sandwich or burger where the yoke runs down the sides coating the entire thing

Yeah I am a soft boiled egg man. Sometimes I take them out to early and even the whites are runny. I still eat em, even if I just need to tip the bowl and drink them.
Runny eggs all the way for flavor and health.
Some people even eat them raw in shakes, but I don't go that far.

runny egg yolks are the perfect sauce.
Hard yolks are okay in a salad or something.
I made this recipe with runny yolks a few years ago. Best use of egg yolk ever.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/mario-batali/uova-da-raviolo-ravioli-with-an-egg-inside-recipe/index.html
I'm pretty sure runny egg whites arent the best. The protein in eggs whites is more bioavailable when the whites are cooked. Also, raw whites contain Avidin which can cause Biotin defeciency since Avidin binds with Biotin, making it not bioavailable, cooking breaks down avidin.

On the rare chance I'm running late and have no leftovers or hardboiled eggs to eat quickly, I just toss 2 or 3 raw eggs in a glass, break the yolks, and drink. Maybe a little black pepper in there.
Soft boiled eggs are my favorite, though
