Could be C. brunneum or C. molybdite given your location. Spore print would be helpful.

C. brunneum.  I didn't see your spore print there.

C. molybdites is a grassland species. It doesn't grow in wood debris. I'm also not sure if it was ever found in Australia.
I also doubt it's the C. bruneum we find in the northern hemisphere. I'm not sure which species grow in Australia.

Alright, thanks.
It's still a grass dwelling species tough.

We have 4 species of Chlorophyllum in Australia and 3 species of Macrolepiota. Both C. brunneum and C. molybdites occur here. The others are C. nothorachodes and C. hortense.

These are probably C. brunneum though the bulbs aren't as abrupt as I would expect.

If they are C. brunneum they are edible.

The pic is Mycena interrupta. I took that photo in Baw Baw National Park but the species occurs throughout south-eastern Australia in native wet forests. I don't get to the Macedon ranges very often but there are some great mushroom hunting spots there.
