They look like a Psilocybe, but your description has me confused.  Cyan's do not usually grow directly from rotting trees.  Nor do they have "white to a light pinkish" free gills.  Can you get photos of these in situ?

sorry i forgot to fill those parts in i guess im pretty tired, i copy and pasted a template.
they grew from woodchips and dont have pink gills lol
gills are brown

most of them were already black and rotted i was just able to snag a few that looked like this in hopes they were still safe to eat.

i didnt have my phone with me at the time so i couldnt get any habitat shots but yeah they grew from woodchips and the gills are def brown

All I can offer is "What else would they be?" The bluing combined with the uplifted margin and gill orientation in age would pretty much rule out anything else. On that note, they are OLD!!! They even look to have some bacterial infestation?!? Still fun to find but I wouldn't eat them! I'll tolerate a lot of natures degradation but those look yucky (that's the technical term for organically unsafe!). Your call though.

these were from my first real "patch" that i found myself so i can only wait until next year, i hope since most of them were rotted back to the ground the patch will come back strong next season

This makes more sense.  I was thinking to myself "These pictures don't even match"

You have a wood loving Psilocybe there, but I'm not sure what species in their current state.  Could be cyans, could be allenii, could be another.  Fresh specimens would clear it up I'm sure.
