woodland psilocybe id
    #19167437 - 11/20/13 08:40 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Habitat:
found this growing along a wooded trail close to puget sound washington seemed to be growing on wood debris and leaf litter.

Gills:
tan, attached

Stem:
around 2 inches, whitish cream to light tan, darker towards base, smooth, hollow, thin.

Cap:
1/2 inch, translucent when wet light yellowish brown when young to a bit darker with age, when dry opaque tan , smooth for the most part, obtusely conic cap shape, convex.

Spore print color:
printing as we speak but i saw some on another cap and I'm pretty sure it was purplish black

Bruising:
blue

Other information: had a gelatinous pellicle when it was still wet

They had already dried out quite a bit once I got home for more pics

Aah, indeed. I hadn't thought of that one. I'm not from the PNW.

I'm not the OP. Don't worry. He found them in Washington state.

at first i thought they were pelliculosa but I had never seen them flatten out like these. not that i'm an expert on the morphology of pelliculosa cause i've only seen them a couple of times.

@Broke - that 3rd photo in your signature is ridiculous!

And I am curious to see if the OP's specimen are psilocybe or not.
