Here is what appears to be a very interesting Nova episode (so far). It is an investigation into the JFK assassination. 10 minutes in, and I have already heard a couple of things that I did not know before. I will say more when I am finished with it.

Speaking of JFK
Other than getting shot in the head, what did he do that still affects the US today?

Well, what did Lester Pearson do that still affects Canada?
Oh wait, same answer: Airport names.

Done. Interesting, and just backs up the non-conspiracy camp. People have a hard time believing that a nobody like Oswald could have killed Kennedy. The mind recoils in horror to that idea, insisting 'NO! A great man cannot be killed by a simple madman with a 12 dollar gun!'.
But he can, and here is the proof of it.
Of course, nobody will ever be convinced by the evidence. Conspiracy theorists will always come up with more reasons why it simply cannot be so... that perhaps Nova is in league with the conspirators.... perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... ad infinitum.
And so be it. I, for one have no more questions about the JFK killing after watching this Nova episode. It covered several technical hurdles that I was unclear about previously, but now am.
That is all.

I've never been to Dallas, but I heard someone say that they were very surprised when the went to Dealy Plaza that it was much smaller than they imagined, and that it probably wasn't that hard for a trained marksman to do. I'm not so sure he was the only person involved, but I think all the evidence shows he was the only shooter.

I go through Dealy Plaza about once a month. I exit the city there to head back to my place... and like your friend said, it really is not a very large area. I have stood in the spot where Oswald fired from, and am certain I could make the same shots in the same time with the same rifle if I had a couple of days to practice with it... maybe even just a few hours.
My dad was a hardcore conspiracy advocate for many years, but he came out to visit a few years back, and I took him to the plaza. He walked all over the grassy knoll, went through the book depository museum and looked down on the motorcade location from the firing position... and afterward, he never mentioned conspiracy again. He has some shooting experience himself, and came to the same conclusion I did. It is entirely doable.
