Cloning straight to rye.

Hi, I have cloned tissue on agar many times. The end results in dropping the agar wedge to the rye jars. I would like to save time and just drop the inner tissue directly on a 1qrt hydrated, sterilized rye jar within a SAB.
I'm not concerned with isolating or genetics. This should work right? Should rip right through the rye just as it would agar. Anyone done this? Love to here your results. Thanks.

How often did you get 0 contams dropping clone tissue to agar? If you're always getting lucky and seeing 0 contams on dishes made with clone tissue before any transfers you might be ok. It's not recommended but it can work if you do get a sterile piece of tissue.

1 outta 10...fuck it, i'll stick to agar, even though it's timely and boring. Of the many times I've drop tissue to agar I've zero contams and just drop the wedge to rye anyway. Figured I could save a step.

try it if you're not banking on needing it to succeed. But it's probably going to give you a good ratio of failures, maybe not.
