Sleep Paralysis (Vibration pressure)

So last night i would say was my first experience with some kind of sleep paralysis.
In short what happened was... I sort of felt it was going to happen(details later) but i felt a wave of strong vibrational pressure consume my body and pressed me down into my bed, like a sucking feeling in my stomach, along with intense ringing that also hit in a wave at the same time. It was really intense, shocked/startled me, i panicked and sorta screamed/moaned/hummed but nothing really came out. This lasted for about 5-10 seconds then i snapped out of it.
Any feedback would be nice.
Could i have astral projected/obe? Could any negative energies attach or take advantage during that state? or just don't feed into the fear and there is nothing to worry about etc..

That sounds like classic sleep paralysis to me. These can develop into OBE or lucid dreams (I'm actually skeptical if obe are really out of body). The only thing I'd say could be a worry is that some obe I've had have been uncomfortable, but once you snap out of it, it has no lasting effects. No different then a bad dream really.
Also, the trick for getting out of sleep paralysis if you aren't enjoying it is to hold your breath. This wakes your body up.

Thanks for the reply, yeah ive heard to snap out of it. was to change your breathing pattern or hold your breath as you said.
It just sort of randomly happened...
Details.. I was fading into dreams laying on my bed kind of passing out.(this was around midnight) phasing in and out of visual thoughts/dreams.. I would be able to sense a text message come to my phone and i'd feel a jolt.. wake up.. and my phone got the text message that instant in waking life..
I just felt really in tune this night..(sober 3 days?? fasting??) doing nothing but laying around cause I got my widsom teeth taken out, cant eat/low energy.
also in one of those little dream phases i was having. I was imagining/dreaming i was at my friends house. and laying on a bed like i was in real life, and i was all disorientated. i had no balance laying down, i felt like i was spinning... falling.. left right upward downward in the dream..But before that in my dream a person(who i believed to be myself) left my friends house while i was still laying on the bed watching "him" leave. and it sort of clicked to me. i was 2 people?? so i thought maybe im having an out of body experience.. n shortly after i woke up from that dream. re-positioned myself on my bed flat on my back and within like 20 seconds the wave of vibrations/ringing hit me SUPER hard
i mean ive read and heard about that vibrational stage people have mentioned but first hand experience with it, was something totally different; gnarly haha
im just curious to how i can experience sleep paralysis again. though im still a little shaken from how intense it was. but been waiting for something cool like that to happen..
if this makes any sense

yeah, that makes sense. It is a pretty intense and over powering experience. There's ways to induce it I think, but none of them ever worked for me. it just happens randomly to me a few times a year.

I have experienced sleep paralysis my whole life due to narcolepsy as well as consciously projected, so I think I can help.
Firstly, there is nothing harmful about sleep paralysis. The worst thing about it is that it can be unpleasant, that's really it. If you are having out of body experiences or verging on it, which it sounds like you are, then you will likely be able to astral travel/project consciously through meditation.
In terms of whether you're vulnerable to nasty energies, there are some differing opinions. Many say, and I'm inclined to agree, that the spooks you experience are created by your own mind and are manifestations of fear; once you let go of that fear you likely won't be bothered by them. I found resolving this fear made a huge difference to my spontaneous and deliberate astral projection. Having said that, prior to this I had experience where I was physically attacked and woke up in physical pain from being hit/slapped/punched. If you want to protect yourself, a classic method is to imagine yourself encased in white light. Relax into the experience, it can't actually cause you harm.
From my experience of astral travel, I personally choose to use it to explore my environment. Before I started learning to control it, I'd often visit places in dreams i'd never been before then find myself there a week later. Now I usually like to just fly upwards and see how far I can go! If you are fortunate enough to develop vision (some people can see in all directions, others can't see anything) this is especially rewarding. I know this is going to sound like a load of crap, but if you're serious about exploring this I'd suggest experimenting with a raw vegan diet. Not just a new fad, Hindi Gurus have practiced vegan diets for goodness knows how long as a spiritual practice and I personally found it so intense (like i'd literally fall out of my body at random moments) I had to start eating meat again because I felt so groundless.
-------------------- “To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.”

Somewhat off-topic...but...
I suspect the guru-elite eat meat-free diets for fear of eating their reincarnated aunts or cousins or other such nonsense.
Seriously though, it's a stretch to equate vegetarianism with spiritually in any shape, form, or manner. It's perfectly okay to avoid meat, but let's not attribute "spiritual worth" to the practice. (Talking in the abstract here -- not to you personally, Oliveaux.)
A simple exercise:
Go to your bathroom mirror and observe the variety of your teeth. Some of them are specifically designed/intended for dealing with difficult and sinewy meat particles.
Like they say: "As with the lions, so with the humans."

There are other reasons for it, including not wanting to absorb the spiritual energy of the animal (products) you'd be consuming including its suffering, raising your energetic vibrations, fasting (abstaining from certain foods is a form of fasting in many religions and spiritual practices with veganism coming up basically everywhere from Christianity to Hinduism) and more that I can't place right now. Whether or not this is true for anyone else, it absolutely worked for me and was actually an unintended consequence, so I feel its appropriate to suggest others try it since it's not harmful in any way, it's not irreversible nor is it a value judgement on anyone's personal decisions.

The scientific data are all over the place on the biological "harm" of not eating meat or meat products. Too much meat and you stand a higher risk for all sorts of cardiovascular shit. Too little meat and you stand a higher risk for all sorts of nutritional deficiency.
As usual, the Buddhists have it right: "Everything, but in moderation."
I totally respect personal decisions to refrain from meat. I stopped eating veal years and years ago, after the pervasive cruel and unusual treatment of those animals became clear. I generally try to avoid meat from animals that are raised and slaughtered in unusually cruel ways.
My only "peeve" is with the "vegetarian / spirituality" argument.

There is science for and against it, however my suggestion was to try it out as spiritual practice, not for an extended period of time. You may not see the value in it but others do (many others, as I said), and again, since it's not harmful in short term (with a big maybe over the effects of long term veganism, if you want to get into details here i'm happy to in another thread or via PM) I fail to see how there's any harm in trying it. If it helps, great. If it doesn't, never mind. I simply suggested something that I personally found useful, which is what the OP was asking for. Again, as i've said already, it's not a value judgement of any kind. I eat meat myself (as I said in my post, I had to quit veganism due to the intensity of my experiences). Again, this type of fasting is practiced in many different religous practices. If you can find me a study of how short-term abstention from animal products for spiritual purposes have been harmful to individuals health, I will find you a million dollars. There is no need to make value judgements about other peoples spiritual practice.

Well I've only eaten a few cups of yogurt a milk shake, and drank just the soup of chicken noodle soup lol over the past 3 days now.
So i wonder if this kind of "fasting" or diet has an effect on me reaching that sleep paralysis. I've basically been just sleeping/laying down all 3 days due to lack of energy since i can't eat anything at all really..
I sort of felt this sleep paralysis com ming.. the faint dream seconds before it happened caused me to think about out of body experiences. I was super disoriented in the dream, spinning upside down left right(i think this has something to do with it..)then i woke up half way on my bed. so i centered myself and felt like i was about to have something crazy happen.. ears were ringing a little stronger than normal and like 5 seconds later.. it felt like an earthquake hit.. BOOM shock wave of vibrations and ringing hella hard in/on my body.. like i was screaming or fighting inside myself. suffocating.. getting sucked in.. OHHHHH
then it stopped..
now im curious, cause i felt so in "tune" with "frequencies.. vibrations..in sync with my surroundings whatever i can describe it as"
WILD wake induced lucid dreaming. comes to mind cause i feel like i was pretty conscious/aware most of the night last night, as i kept fading into and out of dreams.. ?

I appreciate your thoughtful posts and apologize if I'm coming across as too strident. That's certainly not my intention.
I'm cool with regard to people making their own decisions regarding their own spiritual paths. I have major issues, however, when someone extrapolates from his or her own experience to the experience of others. (Again, this is in the abstract. Not directed to you personally.)
So, if you were to say to me "I have achieved spiritual success through abstaining from the consumption of meat," I would say, "That's a good thing. Carry on."
But if you were to say "The consumption of meat is contrary to spiritual progress," I would say "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on."
Thanks for the exchange of ideas, Oliveaux.

I meant the former! FWIW, I don't think that veganism or vegetarianism is necessary for spiritual practice or even automatically helpful (and conversely that eating meat is somehow bad, I eat it myself), i just wanted to suggest something that has worked for some. Sorry if I didn't communicate this very clearly (I find typing to communicate quite tricky and am sure I often sound quite contrary unintentionally).

Well after reading a little bit on WILD
i gave it a try and had success.. i was starting to get those faint visuals/dreams and let them flow.. and then i felt the tingle start in my foot then let it consume the rest of my body.. the "vibrational" stage started to take over me.. but i was only able to last like 5 seconds or less. then again for 3 seconds(i think i was still scared to hold onto it.)
so i wonder if this fits better under WILD.. cause ive heard others mention sleep paralysis along with being held down/ choked. watched touched by "evil" beings etc (glad i haven't experienced that.. yet?)
but i got a new question now.. do i just practice to hold/maintain that vibration longer.. assuming i can transcend into a WILD.. and is there a different between a Wake induced lucid dream to a regular lucid dream where you just later catch yourself "oh I'm dreaming.." to astral projection..
so i guess I am asking, whats the difference between WILD and astral travel/projection.. If anyone cares to fill me in on that. thanks =]
