First casing attempt

I recently gave my first attempt at casing my colonized cakes using the 50/50 tek. This is 7 days into the mycelial growth and I introduced lights/ lowered the temps on day 5. Does this look healthy or does it appear to be overlaying? The temp has been held around 72 degrees, and the humidity is 95-99%.

Upload pics here, do not make anyone download a file.
Overlay is a myth that has nothing to do with cubes, so do not worry about that.
Temp drop is not a pinning trigger for tropical species.....so if growing cubes do not worry about that.

A few months ago, I 'jokingly' said I'd ban the next person who asked an overlay question and it worked . . .until now.
What happens is one person asks about overlay, and for the next six months, every new grower thinks he has overlay.
I can guarantee you don't have it, since I've only seen it a handful of times, and I've been known to have grown a few projects in my day. Full colonization of the casing layer is not overlay. Give lots of fresh air and light, while misting a few times daily and you'll fruit soon. RR

Whatever you do don't deep scratch. That's a failed method which was disproved 30 years ago. RR

I'd be curious to know what people think of the picture the OP put up. I'm in the process of experimenting with casing layers as well (50/50+) and if it were that busy on the top layer, I would have put some extra casing. Is this necessary or has the OP chosen the right moment to put into the fruiting chamber?
My main concern is that it will be harder to keep the surface moist... thoughts?

Thanks for correcting this false understanding. My puppy told me he ended up adding a light layer of coir, and a few days layer a nice size flush arrived.
