Contamination: Salvage aborts
    #19163438 - 11/20/13 03:12 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I read from RR, the contaminates cannot travel through the mycelium network, thus making these aborts edible

Can I get some answers, thoughts or opinions on this matter?

I wouldnt eat anything in that jar regardless of what anyone says, even paul stamets.
Opening those jars will just spread that shit throughout the air. Also, what do you mean you pcd them? Too kill the contamination.....orrr what? If you ran those through the pc then dont even bother eating the pins because the heat from the pc will most likely have made them useless.

Very good point,

I pressure cooked them to "kill" the mold, before I opened them outside and buried them, or is that even  a good idea?

No that is the best thing to do.

Im saying though, because of the high temp of the pc, the psilocin/psilocybin content is going to be affected greatly in those pins. So I wouldnt bother eating them.

Those are in vitro pins, not aborts. I wouldn't eat them simply because it's hard to tell which is the mold mycelium and which is the mushroom mycelium and they're right through a lot of it. It true though that mold needs to be on the mushroom to make them inedible. It doesn't matter is alive or dead, if it produced any kind of toxins they'd still be there after PCing.

After I came home today, I decided to throw them in the dirt and bury them.
Does anyone recommend any procedure so I could potentially not have to throw my clothes away

Heres one
Quote:

Mycotoxins are very heat stable therefore heat treatments like boiling water, roasting or even autoclaving cannot adequately destroy them.
