Have to live in a van for a while. 1

Hey guys...Long story short, in a few months, I have to sell the house and I am moving to North Dakota to work. I figure with the decent money I'll be making, I will only have to live in the van for a few months. Housing is awful up there.
I have 15 strains that are in Cultube master culture slants. I have to take my slants with me. I bought a small coca-cola personal fridge that works pretty well. It holds about 6 regular sized soda cans and keeps them at 34 degrees F. I will have an electric hook up at night for the culture tubes, but during the day I'll need to drive the van to work and park it.
Will my tubes be alright going from cold to warm on a daily basis like that?
If not, what would you suggest I do to keep my mycelium viable?
Maybe place them in a small thermos that fits in the mini-fridge?

This is the reference article -
Preserving Cultures Using Sterile Distiled Water in Cryovials
Abstract:
Prior to 1985, cultures at teh center for forest mycology research were maintained on a 1.5% malt extract agar test-tube slants. This system not only made it neccessary to transfer the entire collection every year but also permitted genetic change because continual growth occured. In 1985, the method of storing fungal cultures in sterile distilled water in CRYOVIALS was introduced. This study reports on the use of this method for long-term fungal storage. For varying periods of up to seven ( 7 ) years, 151 miscellaneous specials of wood-decaying Basidimycotina were stored in sterile distilled water. Water storage has numerous advantages: culture viability or growth rate is not significantly influenced; isolates can be stored longer; genetic stability is greater; the method is quick, easy, and inexpensive, and requires less space.
Cyrovials ( Internally Threaded & Self Standing
These can withstand autoclaving so if I were to buy them and try something along the lines of distilled water long term storage, I could always uses them as slighty more expensive alternative to the glass vacutainer blood collection tubes.
Heres what Im guessing - seven years, of unrefigerated storage is a possiblity, but even two years unrefigerated would be nice aswell.
Full Sterile - with option of threaded inside, or external - which would you prefer - internal or external threads?
Take a fully colonized grain, or spore print - isolate, isolate, gather your monoculture - inside of SAB/GB/FLOW/FKN LABRATORY
Take 4-6-8 ML of Sterile Distilled Water and put onto your agar monoculture
Scrape it a bit, mix up the myc. Suck it back up and put into the Cyrovial -
Than go about your business and save for 5 years and when needed re-enter onto agar - break down any contams if any - and sustain your strain? Or take fully colonized agar chunk, cut into 2x2 pieces and drop three or four into the cyrovial filled with sterile distilled water, seal and store. They feature a rubber type gasket internally and can be twisted completley air-tight aswell, so no need to wrap them.
Im new to all of this, so this all might be a huge waste of brainpower. Please leave any and all feedback, discreation unneccesary, so... what you think?

It's gonna be reeeaally cold here in a few months! Like way sub-zero. Housing isn't so hard to find in Minot. Williston area is pretty fucked though. I know that doesn't really address your question or anything but it's neat to see someone else coming to work in the middle of nowhere like I did. It's actually not as bad as I thought it was gonna be.

Driving around with them would not be.my first choice. Do you have a friend that could store them for you and then FedEx them to you once you were settled? Just a thought.

Depending on the state its probably not a big deal, if he WERE busted, it would probably weigh less than a gram of illegal material. misdemeanor.
Although... the fuck you wanna be drivin around in a van with a bunch of culture slants for, they gon' find you.
lol I could go either way on this...

I'm pretty sure mycelial growth and mushrooms at any stage is a felony. Mycelium contains psilocybin so that puts it at felony level.

Damn, I guess every kid who gets popped with an eighter is a felon these days...
Not likely, its probably based on weight. Felony possesion > Possesion

I've always been told that mycel & cultures where not illegal unless there is mushrooms growing in the same space. I would also be more worried about them freezing.

I don't think the cops would know what the culture tubes were. You could probably just say there button mushrooms or beer yeast and never have another question asked.

Why would he be getting busted? I mean if these cultures are in his van inside of a mini fridge. It's not like they are laying out in the open as long as the guy isn't smoking tons of blunts in the van while driving around town there's no reason po would have to investigate.

Unless you live in Chicago, where they search you and your car for traffic violations, with no probable cause, 90% of the time.
Even walking down the street you can be stopped and searched, while being white on a sunday.....it's fucking nuts.

It's against the law to not have road hazard kits, tire iron etc... so they have to "look for those" extra ticket if you dont have them $$ if they find something else *bonus*

Chicago is one of the worst. Irony is that the cops and politics are part of the reason causing the outrageous crime rates. Poor poor people living in poverty with low education voting for the people that are hurting them the most. It's your city, why are you letting the cops get this crazy. Oh yea those alderpeople, mayors, governors, judges, police chiefs etc that you elected.

In Wisconsin Possesion of psilocybin is a class g felony from 1 to 100 grams
25000$ max and 10 years max.
If you don't know what it is where you live I recommend you find out. Taking a risk without knowing the consequences is not very smart IMO.

If you have a lawyer you're good and will get probation and some fines. If you don't you're going to jail for sometime less than 10 years and then having your sentence reduced to crowding but you'll do 2-5 probably.

True 1st offense for small amounts will not get you the max sentence but you will have the felony tag forever

Not trying to be rude, but this is all circumstantial. Few years ago I recieved a felonious assault on a police officer -
Spent 30 Days in Jail - 2 Years Probation, and upon completion of probation without any new convictions the felony was redacted on all state levels, only viewable by federal agencies.
Public defender. I bought a new shotgun the week of release, under the scrutiny of a state/federal background check.
Call it white privilege, call it what you want. But I always here these things like, once you have a felony this, and if you're busted and you dont have a good lawyer that...
Cases like this are all circumstantial is all I'm trying to say, not trying to step on toes here.

A friend of mine was also convicted of manufacturing and distrubtion and the same applied, finished felony probation in good standing, paid all fines and followed directions of the court - felony redacted.
