Hello all!
I have noticed that there is a lot of talk on this board of depression and post tripping depression and I thought I would put my 2 cents into the conversation. I am a very sensitive guy and am prone to " the deep blues"; episodes which will last for 3-5 day periods, from time to time, which make me feel moody and unable to really live my life to the fullest. This is me naturally and I feel like this is pretty normal for the vast majority of us. Notably, I have noticed that when I use psilocybin, I usually feel a bit run down, blue, and easily stressed for a period of 2-4 weeks. Not quite my optimal self. It feels like wasted life and thus, I keep my mushroom use to a minimum, but I do enjoy putting on the psilly glasses from time to time and see what the world has to offer.
I tripped a couple of days ago on a modest dose of 3.1 grams of dried P. cyanescens, lemon and lime extracted, and then made into a tea. Very clean feeling and I had a great time at a show with a bunch of my close friends. After a one day afterglow, I have been feeling blue, tired, spacey, and not my 100% self in the 4 days since. It was wearing on me and I remembered that I had some multivitamins that I had not taken in a long time. I went to bed last night, and took a single multivitamin, slept, woke up, took another multi with breakfast, and then another one later in the afternoon and I feel stunning. It brought me back to the same place that I was at before tripping. A complete night and day difference.
I have taken a whole slew of very nice multi's and have taken the top-notch coenzymated B vitamins, and this vitamin blows them out of the water. It is called Metagenics Phytomulti and it is the best supplement I have ever taken, and this is coming from someone who has taken a whole slew of amino acids, protein powders, vitamins, multi's, racetams (pir, oxi, ani, pra), herbs, and other nootropics. Nothing comes close. It is providing my body with the fuel to function optimally.
Before last night, I had not taken any supplements for 2 months and just focused on eating a lot of good food. I have heard the argument that vitamins are just a waste of money and are good for nothing because there are plenty already in our whole foods that we eat and I was following this dogma.
Earlier this summer, I tripped for three nights in a row at a music festival and I took 2 of these vitamins per day. While all of my friends were getting run down and had some depression afterwards, my energy levels remained high and I felt amazing. To boot, I had such a strong afterglow for 1.5 weeks and while I had the time of my life, I feel like these vitamins really helped with keeping me on my A game.
They aren't cheap, but this is the Ferrari of supplements. If you are prone to depression or post tripping depression, this could very well be your answer. It certainly is mine. If you are to spend money on any supplement, this would be the one.
I know this seems like such a massive advertisement, but I am taken aback of how much of a difference these vitamins make. They completely eradicate my depression and I think others may find the same.
