Agar, also called Agar-agar, is a gelatin-like product made primarily from the algae Gelidium and Gracilaria (red seaweeds). Best known as a solidifying component of bacteriological culture media. The high pure agar is manufactured by a greener way which eliminates organic chemicals treatment. Our high pure agar maximizes the growth of your bacteria. Note: This agar should not be used for food additive since it hasn't been tested for food purpose.
Please note, This is pure agar, bacteria would not grow on plates made with this agar ONLY. To prepare LB plate for bacterial growth, you have to add yeast extract, peptone/tryptone and sodium chloride to the agar.
We have another list of "nutrient agar" for sale now.
The discription almost seems contradictory to me... Any way, will this work for mycelium isolation?

Yup. That's enough for about five liters worth--a whole hell of a lot.

Yes, but like it says you will have to add some other additive (malt extract, oatmeal, etc) to it in order to give the myceium nutrients to grow off of.

No, you just have to mix x part agar with x part nutrient, and then mix with water. There is not an agar that comes pre mixed with nutrients that I know of.
So buy that, and then read this over. Should help out.
Edit - This is the post I was looking for. It contains a bunch of different recipes for agar. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/3077006
I just use agar, oatmeal, and water. Simple and effective.

Do you grind the oatmeal into powder? Do you have an approximate ratio that you use?

There are a couple different recipes on the link I gave you, not gonna do all the work for ya And I just let the oatmeal sit in the water for ~5 minutes before I mix it with the agar.

There are many. They're marketed toward research scientists with really nice grants, high schools and commercial labs that just want to run a plate of something every now and then but don't want to be bothered to keep up stocks of PDA, LMEA and so on.
OP, if you have more time than money (like me), you'll find it very useful to buy your agar separately and mix in your own nutrients. You can switch up recipes like that, rather than being stuck with either PDA or LMEA or having to shell out for both.
