BRF cake dunk after flush, to roll or not to roll

When reading trough the endless info on this forum, I read different opinions on rolling cakes that are dunked after a flush.
Different threads tell us to dunk@roll, others specifically tell us not to re-roll them because contams on the surface can start growing within the fresh vermiculite layer, which of course does not have the metabolite protection the mycelium surface has.
When I wash my cakes under the tap, most of the vermiculite will wash off. This results in a cake having much less vermiculite area the mycelium can use to exchange moisture with.
When cakes are re-rolled, the vermiculite will draw moisture from the cake the first hour(s) until it is misted to hydrate the vermiculite. Won't this also transfer metabolites into the vermiculite, making it less possible for contams to start growing on the vermiculite layer?

When I did cakes I had a batch of 5 that I rerolled after the first flush. It didn't really seem to make any difference. They didn't contaminate until after the third flush which seemed to be the average for all of my cakes. Your mileage may vary.
I would definitely like to hear a more experienced opinion about it though.

I re-dunked and re-rolled cakes many times. The cakes in my photos were
made from only rye berries, dunked and rolled in sterilized peat moss.
Each cake flushed 4-6 times.

Ive always dunked between flushes.. cakes need to replenish moisture spent from producing fruits.. i dont see why rolling in dry verm would cause any contams.. it contains trace minerals but isnt a uber nutritious substance like rolling it in grains or somethin lol

The mycelium network gets a lot weaker n more vulnerable after each flush

IMO the myc needing water to make more flushes better, takes more precedence
Than the risk of contam or w/e on a fully colonized weakened cake hitting flush 2-3

The dunk is fine I find the rerolling to be the unneeded risk

Still more opinions needed to make up my mind. I want to do things by the book, but the shroomery is a big book written by multiple people with different opinions on some things. So I filter things a bit on reputation of who says what, but this is something people with same experience seem to disagree on when I do searches.

I know this thread is kinda old. But I was just reading and seen that picture you have mycaddict. That's incredible! What strain is that? And weight on it wet?
