Spawn plugs -->> LC contams?

I made some LC using spawn plugs with 50/50 malt/dextrose. I am not sure if the heavy participates at the bottom is bacteria growth or not. Thick mucilage clouds are forming around the plugs. My malt was a tad bit strong so it would be hard to see that in pictures. Anyhow please help me identify.

hmm i think i smell fermentation. That stuff that build up in the bottom resembles a lot like the bacteria that builds up in the bath tub floor. Anyhow, I extracted some of that liquid and patches of egg carton. ill see the results in a couple days and hopefully get a good pure strain out of it.

That's not good then...
If you have little experience with growing mushrooms, LC is a bad choice. If you manage to figure out most of the sterile techniques and procedures correctly you can do it. Nevertheless, I see noobs fail again and again before trying to learn and experiment with more basic stuff. Good luck anyway.

I've never grown out any culture from commercial plugs that didn't require some purification on agar from contaminants.

Hmm now I am not so sure. I read on a post
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4845921#4845921
that the deposits are waste products or metabolytes which are light brown to yellowish. The coloration was much lighter when I first started. The smell itself was weird but it didn't stink. I do not know how "good" LC should smell like so its very confusing. Hopefully I will figure out soon and learn something new. I definitely have to read more on it. (if i can find the threads LOL) THx.
***(read on if you are bored)***
I have very little clash flow so I did not go the more expensive syringe purchase route and bought the inoculation plugs off eBay. Also making agar petri dish is very expensive. Also I was highly curious on how the plugs would perform. I found actually very well in substrate after dipping in H202 for a bit.
The bottles shown above were my very first attempt at LC where I threw some malt+dex+plugs+H202. Now that I have more supplies, I am experimenting on various ways to cost effectively make pure isolates. I have made small cuts of substrate on petri, and various 50ml tubes of LC. I've read that making a "master grain culture" is highly effective. Anyhow, this is just the start, I'll be eating mushrooms for years once I figure everything out LOL.

In addition, these were Shitake plugs, which I read that shitake tend cause to "barking" on substrate. I do not know how Shitake perform in LC and I've read extremely little relevance to the shitake LC after searching many times. Most 95% refer to grain inoculation and industrial techniques.

Ah, then -- there's your problem. Your plugs produce shit. get some Shiitake plugs!
(Sorry -- every thousandth time I see "shit" in "Shiitake", I go off the rant edge for a moment.)

my conclusion is that the deposits are specific by products of cellulose (wood) breakdown. I did not get any contamination with any of my substrate inoculated with plugs.In addition, non of my liquid culture produced with pure specimen produced the deposits. Substrate samples inoculated with shown liquid culture have yet to show any sign of contamination. Thus wood, a more complex food source in comparison to dextrose, malt, honey, karo, will result in heavy metabolic waste there for the deposits at the bottom. This conclusion can be affirmed by examination of the often incomplete (depending on type of cellulase) breakdown of cellulose into useful glucose (food) and less useful carbohydrates (waste).
