bk/MDMA therapy, online?
    #19149787 - 11/17/13 01:30 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

i'm not sure how mdma therapy works, or if methylone could be a decent substitute... but i'm thinking that you just sit down and talk to a therapist while you are take mdma. so if someone is able to acquire the drugs on their own you should be able to have an (anonymous) therapist.

i have heard a lot about mdma therapy and how its a big secret but therapists are out there who will risk their profession to help people, after all wanting to help people has to be their interest anyway.

what if there was (maybe there is) a way to give mdma therapy without giving them the drugs, would that even be illegal for the therapists? if it is then i'm sure there are was to stay anonymous and give therapy online...

seems like a good idea to me as long as they stress to patients to test their drugs and weigh proper doses... and give them help if they don't know how to.

It would illegal for the therapists, and they stand to lose their license to practice. Besides the law, there are codes of ethics that guide each branch of medical services. Whether or not these codes inhibit the ability to actually help patients or not  in some aspects is up for debate, but they are rules that control licensure, and violating them has consequences. For example, my mere involvement in this site could spark an investigation by the board that licenses individuals in my branch, and lead to my license being revoked. (I'm still a student, and not yet licensed, but if I was.....could also lead to an inability to get licensed.) I'm not involved in this area of therapy, but we have our own code of ethics. Life style choices are included. It's bullshit, and I don't agree with it, but I have no choice if this is what I want to do. Thus, I need to keep aspects of myself on the down-low.

So any therapists involved in this would need to be extremely careful. Also, the fact that the drugs are black market, and of unknown purity is an issue. There are some therapists that do participate in underground MDMA therapy, but they do it in person, and they provide the MDMA. They need to be extremely careful. I have a lot of respect for these individuals, because MDMA is a huge benefit in therapy, and the folks working with it are risking their freedom & livelihood to provide that option for those who need it. Hopefully MDMA will be approved for use in the near future.

But OP, have you taken MDMA before, like say, with a girl you trust? I've only tried it 2-3 times so I'm not an expert, but having seen the effects I'd say an in-person human being is much MUCH better than some anon therapist online.

Also, I've seen people who have taken a lot more MDMA than I have, and they still seem overly emotional, fragile as it were, emotionally. I for one prefer psychedelics, at least for me they work better, they seem to put hair on one's chest and horns on one's head as it were

I'd say get the substance, get someone you trust, and try it out.

i have very limited experience with mdma/bkmdma. i feel like a skype conversation would be very useful. the reason i think people you know who are unstable and have taken lots of mdma, is that they don't take ecstacy with the intent to heal themselves and just abuse it.

if someone isn't an ecstacy user i think it will more beneficial to, but if they are troubled with something that ecstacy is known to help then i'm sure there is a good chance mdma therapy will help. idk tho i haven't done extensive research on this, which is why i want to discuss it.

Ok I should expand on that.

There's people that take MDMA and go to raves, to dance and stuff. Indeed they may take a lot, as in, large doses.

Then there's people who take MDMA for therapeutic / spiritual / self-exploration purposes, and have done so on several occasions. Not large irresponsible doses or anything.

I've known a few of those, and now that I think of it I'm pretty sure they'd be WAY better off with just going to Aya ceremonies. Which might seem like a lot more complicated, but not for them, since it's legal in their country, and not expensive either.

So for me, in my very limited experience, I see how MDMA would help, it's definitely useful, as it provides that super-safe space to explore and share in, to deal with previous trauma of all kinds. At the same time if I compare it with shrooming and aya trips, I'd say those were much more useful for me. It's like they don't just provide a nice safe space, they also come with a lot of their own wisdom as well.

Skype convos, especially the way Skype works now (fuck you Microsoft, fuck you in the cunt, you suck!) would be miles away from having an actual warm-blooded skin-covered human being in the room.

In my example, I took MDMA twice with my fwb, and at no point was it in any way sexual, but there was a lot of skin contact, playing, etc. That's a bit harder to do with a keyboard

skin contact is not what therapy is about. it may be beneficial for you in having a great experience, but as for therapy seeking individuals who are dealing with a traumatic event, i think that a skype on mdma will be beneficial but not as much as a true session.

also aya or mushrooms i don't think will help a person like this, if anything it can make it worse.

1. Did you actually try an Aya ceremony before claiming this? What makes you think it's make matters worse?

2. What kind of people are we talking about here? What problem? Addiction? PTSD? Depression?

Whatever it is, I for one will always take Aya over MDMA, but that's just me
