San Pedro id please...
    #19158178 - 11/19/13 03:36 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hi,

I've been under the impression that my cactus is San Pedro but I'm not 100% sure.  The top 3 pics are from the tip and the ribs look rounded, however the next 2 pics are from the middle of the cactus and the ribs look kind of skinny so I'm a bit confused.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.  Cheers!

Yes it's t. pachanoi.

Sometimes trichocereus ribs are different from below the column than top of the plant. There is no simple explanation why ribs can be very "sharp" or there are not ribs at all below the column section.

That kind of ribs can be just simply dehydration and trichocereus cacti keep it's growth tip always at good shape.

I have got also cuttings with very different ribs but later on they have swollen up with water and change to "normal"

Nice cactus tho:thumbup:
