Psychedelic Baptisms?

I was wondering.. Were baptisms in ancient times conducted with the aid of psychedelics? It's a hunch I've had ever since this particular one type trip I've had and was wondering if there's any evidence to prove this. Baptisms today, well at least in Christianity seem to be some kind of weak symbol for renewal of the soul or whatever but they're so fake. It's only a metaphor for what the psychedelic experience can really do.
I was thinking that maybe thousands of years ago people would perform psychedelic rights of passage, maybe even as infants like Christians do, to cleanse a person's soul. Maybe buy submerging a person in water while they were under the influence of mushrooms they could force a psychedelic rebirth experience. I thought this while holding my breath while tripping because as I held my breath I could feel myself slowly letting go of my body and self almost like dying. It happens every time but of course I stop myself because I can. But what if I couldn't? What if someone was holding my head under water? If done in cold water I can also imagine how your head and heart would be working overtime and it would almost guarantee that experience.
also on the topic what about the virgin of guadalupe being a metaphor for a peyote experience. Personally i think it seems kind of likely. I mean some native guy is walking in the desert of mexico has an incredible vision containing an entity and then the image that's created from that vision resembles psychedelic visuals and shit. i think ive brought this up before but i still haven't come across anything to validate any of this. they've done research hypothesizing that the burning bush the figure of moses encountered was a metaphor for the type of DMT-containing acacia in the area. here's a picture of the guadalupe. people in mexico worship this woman like the natives worship peyote

even if it's not true I think it's still likely that psychedelics have been involved in the creation of many religions and religious experience. I think it's interesting to think about whether baptisms use to take place this way.

Religion back then was rampant with drug use, the psychedelic experience is integral to christian origins.
Read up on the Sacred Mushroom and The Cross, its mindblowing.
