See how hard was that?! I just hope you're serious right now and not setting me up for failure. Cause that would be really uncool!

if you have your hands on pda why make an lc, pour some dishes and save a few weeks of your life.
other than that if you insist on making an LC
there are very very simple recipes all over the forums.
just sayin.

No....you can find it at asian markets, if there are any on your local area...or at some major grocery chains...
If not, online might just be the easiest way....

nope you can get agar agar from health food stores, and mix your pd with it. you can get away with no pour petris if you dont have the cash for petris.
which online is your best deal
this is what i use
http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=PDAA01
and get a whole bunch of these

For the record, and for anyone else reading this, the difference between a nutrient broth and an agar plate is the agar and the plate. Anything that will grow on PDA or LMEA will grow in potato dextrose broth or a solution of light malt extract just as easily. The concentrations of sugars and such are the same.
Earlier, underfliptown, you were talking about sanitizing the outside of your syringe with alcohol. That's cool and all, but what you should do instead is make a self-healing injection port and a tyvek breathing patch, so that way you're limited to bacteria that are inside the syringe. With a good vendor and using only a single drop of spore solution you'll have about a 50% success rate, so make several LCs at the same time and do some small test jars.

Once you have your clean culture on agar, if your heart is still set on LC, you can use an agar wedge to inoculate your LC and maybe have a chance that it will work. However IMO, LC is a complete waste of time if your growing cubensis, as G2G is faster and safer in the long run. Save LC for exotics or edibles. On a side note my p galindoi LC is looking good, should be able to test it on agar or a single test jar soon to see if its even worth using

I am just a beginner, but using agar to isolate genomes and cloning is really easy. Agar Agar is very inexpensive in grocery stores(in the Asian section) and Asian markets. I paid only $1.69 USD for this package:

It is easy to work with. Using an agar media took a little longer at first, but now I have a good sample that I can continue to use while testing different genomes and strains at the same time. Being a beginner myself, I am trying the tried and tested methods first, and I can figure out a way to make things work better for myself after.
Plus, working with agar is so interesting. You can really get behind the science of the growth.
I use something similar to a potato dextrose agar but I substitute the starch water with potato flakes and I use Karo for the nutrient. It works great and it is super cheap. Happy growing
Edit: For less than $15 USD, I have enough to make 4 liters of agar media. This is about enough for 120 petri dishes. Do it man. You won't regret it.

I would advise as others have to research agar. Not only can it accomplish exactly what a clean LC can, it can and will better your grasp on the hobby.
I have been doing agar work in pp5 plastic containers for a few months, and it has honestly been hands down the best investment of time to learn. The biggest gain from working with agar is the ability to use clean cultures. This alone makes it worth it.
Good luck in your future studies.
