Ignoring depression
    #19155120 - 11/18/13 04:17 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Is it a good idea?

Regardless of how shitty and empty I feel, I just go about my day like everything is fine. I don't want it to affect my work ethic or the way I treat people at work or my productivity at school.

I spent time with people that I work/go to school with over the weekend. I had a good time but as soon as it was over I felt the dark weight settle over me inexorably as I walked home in a light drizzle of rain.

But that's okay because at the nerd party I talked and laughed with everybody as we played board games and drank a bit. So in the very least I didn't spread bad vibes to other people. I guess that makes me feel better.

Anyway, I don't have time for this shit. I have to go study Fermi-Dirac statistics.

"The coming months—when the earth goes fallow, the nights grow longer and days shorter —are, since ancient times, a time of reflection, of a journey into darkness before the rebirth of spring.  Just like our ancient forebears, who celebrated this time with rite and ritual, each of us responds to the challenges of the darkness and reduced daylight.  Remember that there’s a meaningful difference between “reflecting” on your thoughts and feeling and “ruminating” about them.  Rumination is a cycle of repetitious thoughts which can leave you sleepless or wake you up in the middle of the night; it can be a precursor to depression.  Pay heed to the difference, especially in this season.  Talk about your feelings with your friends and intimates which may make them easier to manage. Please seek the help of a professional or counselor if the tumble of thoughts starts getting in the way of your functioning or enjoyment. "

You sound okay to me.

In no particular order ...

- Check your diet.

- Stay present.

- take two of these :boobs: and call me in the morning

Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
- Matthew 13:16
