Co2 levels will be higher at the top of the chamber.
Not sure that I buy that argument given this situation. If this was a typical sub then sure. This is not a typical sub. If the currents in said pocket are being impeded I doubt that those convection currents are going to matter much. Wasn't that always the argument for not using BW or wax paper faux casings? That they sacrifice good FAE in order to attain RH?
Whatever, I don't really care that much. Regardless, my original point, was that it's not a good practice, the sub did not want to pin anywhere else at that point, despite an abundance of primordia on the top, and I had cobweb that only developed in that area and did not readily spread to the rest of the sub with the ease that it did in the crevice. On the plus side I did finally get to see what it looks and sounds like to sizzle some cobweb

Yes, but sacrificing FAE does not mean co2 is going to collect at the bottom of any tub.
Co2 does not settle out of air, it mixes with the air.
Whatever air is in the tub flows to the top riding the heat and humidity currents.
Bubblewrap may hinder FAE from hitting the substrate, but the co2 still does not collect at the bottom, it mixes with the air....
