Lost my first grow to mold

I live in a basement level apartment in a very damp coastal state, and my apartment is absolutely overrun with a black mold. It can see it built up in the corners and surfaces of doors. My toilet is probably the worst. I bleach it often, but the mold just loves the damp surface and just keeps popping back up. I got into this site a few months ago and decided to try my hand at the pf TEK. I kept things as clean as possible and got three flushes solid out of my cakes in a SGFC before I noticed a small patch of my black mold growing on the inside of the SGFC, so I shut it down. I am going to bleach everything and store my equipment in a sealed bag until my next try. Because I am not moving anytime soon, I think I am going to give Violet's in vitro grow tek a shot to set myself up for success in my current situation.

Thanks to all you guys that helped me out, I still consider the grow a success. I got a buttload of harvested mushrooms, 8 beautiful prints, and a dozen clean cultures on agar out of it. Can't wait to have another go at it, I am head over heels for this hobby.
So does anyone else live in a moldy apt/house? if so, how do you deal with it?

And if they don't, the health department should make them.....

Black molds are particularly awful. I don't have black molds in my house very often.

You already said mine!;

And of course, the "violet" tek.
I dealt with it primarily by letting my sterile technique do all the work. No uncolonized substrate in untreated environs!
We ALL already do the work of preparing, sterilizing, and inoculating grains... I succeeded doing that 100%, but due to horrible conditions too many re-colonized grows including "bulks" contam'd either before or after the 1st flush. So instead of putting all my eggs in one basket and turning all my successful sterile tech work to the wind, I found a way for the first steps of the process to become the whole process! So many advantages to this that I grow tired of mentioning them, hahahah.
No stretch here - I almost NEVER see contaminants anymore and they're absolutely no problem at all even when they show up.

the answer is to move. ya cant cage match molds for supremacy and success.
make some life choices, move to an space at least suitable for livestock, and then grow.

yes, weve reached the point as a culture, where obvious truth, does blow peeps minds.
for the health and safety of you and yours, move somewhere that meets the basic health codes.
then , have a safe and clean grow.
cherry picking to find others as an example of poor grow environments, is not a good strategy.
who would guess , health and safety. insane isnt it?........

Yes, I should relocate my family, because my home isnt capable of producing healthy fungus.
Seems realistic.
Its called home-improvement.
Killz, Mold Resistant Paint, Replacing Floor-Boards.
If you're renting, these things should and will be paid for by the homeowner, or renter association in lieu of criminal negligence

Yeah I think I am going to take some pictures and discuss this with my landlord, and the health department if need be. I honestly did not know this was a health threatening problem until now.
