Possible ways to screw a spawn bag

I inoculated 10 spawn bags one grew in almost three weeks
Inoculated 4 more after that also nothing but those might be a bit too soon to tell
My question is what could I have done to cause no growth on these spawn bags when all other inoculant from that syringe has been great

Here is a picture of some

You will see some rust on the outside of the bag from the rings holding them in place in the pc

It's hard to say for sure from those pics, but they look really dry. I've had a hard time getting spores to germinate on really dry grains.

Could be mashing it too much. I have had spores take 3 weeks to show germination on grains. If you mashed it at the point where it was just about too take off, you could have prevented the germination from taking place

Usually it is but I have had some that were stubborn and took longer. I usually don't fuck with it until at least two weeks have passed.
