That.
If you had a lighter substrate it would have probably been ok with that ratio... Not great but it probably would have worked.

What do you mean by dense? I think it was to wet like you said. I pasteurized everything together. Maybe that is why? Mushrooms have not seen the last of me. Should have known better when it smelled like cow shit in my house. Thought that was normal with that stuff. I know horse shit doesnt!! Merry christmas to all. Happy tripping!

theres your problem. Miracle grow products contain fertilizer and a bunch of other crap. Even theyre perlite contains fertilizer. I haven't kept up with the thread so I don't know how you prepared the substrate and whatnot but I know using any miracle gro product in your grows will cause your shrooms to mutate or die
Your mycelium is probably dying from ammonia or some chemical in the miracle gro you used for casing, I don't think it can be helped at this point.
I wish scotts would go out of business. Theyre products are the most cheap, processed, chemical laden garden supplies on the market. Unfortunatly, theyre also the most popular.

Go figure. One thing I hate most about this world is selfish corporate fucks who have the power to change the world, and they use that power to make themselves rich while everyone else suffers in some way.
I personally couldn't sleep for a second knowing the harm im bringing to others, if I was in that position. It's a shame how money and greed affects the mind, it's the same mechanism that causes crackheads to take a life for their next puff.

I am not sure, I think that I may have killed the myc as it may have gotten to hot inside my closet. I know that I properly pasteurized the cow manure, but I will be doing horse manure this coming time around.
Thank you for everyone's help through this, I probably should have just fruited my cakes so I had something...but I am a gambler-->all or nothing
you mite consider a mix of 80%coir and 20%vermiculite next time coir is super easy to work with and fairly contam resistant.
