Handling brf jars

Is it bad to handle them too often? I have used the search function but all threads are old and contradictory so I thought I'd ask.
I left them alone because I was out of town for a week and then I've checked them the last few days looking for signs of colonization. I take them off the shelf and try to hold them level as to not disturb the protective dry verm layer much. I think I may have cobweb and there is some odd reddish coloring at the inoculation points so I have been wanting to keep a close eye on them. But if I could be doing damage I will stop and just wait another week or two to check on them.
Thanks.

It can be kind of risky to move them around, yeah, but it's also the best way to figure out where your contamination is coming from.

IME handing them too often can cause your substrate to become too compacted. If this happens, colonization can stall.
My first jars took an extra week an a half because I was checking them often. They do better on their own without me €¥£king with them.

Mine were orangeish at the knock up holes as well...but some appear to be colonizing pretty good. Just wait it out and see. Good luck!!

Thanks for the advice guys I will not check on them for at least a week then. Hopefully checking them these few times will be okay. Im glad to see someone else saw orange/red at innoc holes also. It didn't look like a contam it I think just discoloration from the extra liquid.
