I Suspect some parameters may be off here? I've got what looks like Siamese mushrooms, short fat ones with fuzz all over. The temperature outside the terrarium is around 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and I mist and fan 3 times a day. Experts, speak! Thanks.

You may have to step up your fanning to five times a day, buddy. Also, in the future you should try to focus on the mushrooms in question rather than the perlite, which admittedly does look nice and damp.

haha, better pictures, noted. So this is definitely a FAE issue? Would circulating the air in my room with a ceiling fan have any benefit?

no fans! they will dry out your perlite, sgfc's work off natural air currents. you may have a bacterial contam judging by the growth around your fruits in your last cople pics. just let them finish up this flush and then cut back on the misting for a few days and le the cake dry up a bit, then dunk and proceed to your second flush and the bacteria should not cause you any issues

I figured the fan was a bad idea. I've read that the fuzz around the base of the actual mushroom is caused by lack of Fresh Air Exchange. Anyone confirm this with experience? I think I may harvest in a day or so and dunk again and see what happens.

I believe that the fuzz can be genetics, as well.

Were those in vitro pins? Because that would explain some of the odd growth - they look kind flattened to the cake in some spots.

Yes, they were invitro pins. I was going to harvest them right away but they kept growing so I let them be. I plan to harvest in a few days, dunk again and see what happens. Not a very good first grow, but hey, it was worth a try. I've learned a lot though, so next time I hope to have better results.

If the grow just started. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet you might be surprised.

This is true; I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. I've got no pins on 4 cakes and I' now at day 6 in the chamber. We'll see I suppose. Thanks for the input. Always appreciated.
