Anybody else excited as fuck for this game? It's made by Bungie, who made Halo series of course and it looks fucking sweet. Kinda like an MMOFPS. Players will be able to team-up on missions, MMO style, then go their separate ways, all dynamically. And I think they said there will be no subscription? But im not sure. They have a level system too, 1-20 i think.
Since halo went downhill pretty quick, this is pretty much gonna be my new Halo fix. Here is some gameplay
I haven't been this excited since Halo 2

Looks really interesting; however, like all game I buy, I'm waiting for some reviews and the possibility of a used copy.

i missed the eighties, so i never had the run ins with NES deaths, or playing all night and not figuring out what to do and getting nowhere. that must have been glorious for the 80's gamer.

well, i've liked a few new games, that... i just happen to also be disappointed in.
like GTA5 and Last of Us... i just am critical and picky, i suppose. but those games had alot of cool things going for them, but then disappointed me in various ways as well. like GTA5's story and characters were not written even half as funny as in previous installments; while all the other bits like the TV, Movies and Radio were all written hilariously and made practically start bawling with LOLs. that and the physics really made rampaging around the city, much more muted and less bombast; which is what i really liked about GTA4. plus, the mimic of the San Andreas map, although keen in it's design, just doesn't beat out being able to unlock and travel freely between islands. there is more outdoors with nothing in it, then there is city.
but the presentation of GTA5 (and of course the graphics) completely wreak GTA4's. i mean, Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack for the game, for frig sakes. that's some hardcore production values, there.

Yeah man.. The Last of Us was fucking awesome.. I wasn't really disappointed with it at all really. I had a few times where I got frustrated but it was the perfect mix of gameplay for me personally.
I want to play GTA V. I have it for PS3 but I've been dickin around on here and on my PS4 lol.
There were a few other games I really enjoyed but I'm drawing blanks right now.
Oh yeah.. FF VII, but it's not for everyone I guess.. But Metal Gear Solid was incredible also.. I loved that game.

GTA5 is like the anti game Great satire, cannon etc but the gaming part in the last of us feels better(most of the time)
It's just really hard to free aim in GTA because of the random spawns, the distance from your character and the nighttime graphics are kind of phoney
everything else is fun, it's just Last of Us works much better as a shooter.
The side missions in GTA can be unfulfilling sometimes, it's like they punish you for not finding the hidden gems.

Metal Gear is one of the best, man. presentation through the roof. same with FF7. great music, great levels, great art design, great innovative gameplay and great plot and story arcs.
the only reason i was disappointed with Last of Us was because everything sorta hinged on the animation, and there was a sorta free floating feel to the game. made it difficult to feel dire need to run away and avoid targets, and even made it difficult (until it was patched) to feel out how to be stealthy and avoid detection from the Clickers. sometimes they'd glitch out and just detect you for no reason, too. that and when your side characters ran around the enemies and somehow made tons of noise and were visible to them, yet they're never attacked nor do they give away your presence. sorta took away some of the immersion factor.
plus, i didn't get to finish the game either; which of course kills it. i plan on getting it again, though, to finish it... one thing i really liked about the gameplay and plot arc was how you're constantly being pushed to new battles and they're all so harrowingly realistic sometimes that you come to the next area, battered and bruised, and you just get thrust into more deadly battles. plus, how the battles keep switching up from dealing with clickers, then humans, then more clickers, and then humans AND clickers.
they really switched it up alot. great story arc, BUT if you stop midway though the game, and take a break for a week... well to me, anyways, the sorta "urgency" gets lost, and is kinda hard to get back; which is what made me lose interest.

there is alot of punishment in GTA5. the cops are super overpowered (though i like their new tactics), you have to ride to every destination, as if something new is gonna happen on the way there (not), you have no crouch function (wtf, why did they remove the...?) ect ect ect

I dunno maybe they patched it before I played.. Probably not though, I think I played as soon as it was released.. I just got so emotionally attached to the characters.. i did have a little trouble here and there with gameplay pissing me off or detracting from things but it was still one of the best games I've ever played.
Yeah stopping for a while can do that.. I played it continuously until I beat it.

that's where i fucked up. i can't do that, it always fucks me up. it's why i've never beaten an RPG (save one, CHRONO TRIGGER) i always lose track of what i was doing and why, and what story bits that haven't been concluded yet, i'm like "so how does this work with this and connect to that" and there isn't no answer yet, so i'm just like "i gotta start over again".
and i never finish, because RPGs are usually 50 hours long!

i'd recommend playing some GTA Online. it's like the whole development of the game is a training for getting you into the Online portion of the game. you (minor spoiler) do missions to practice your precision in coordinating bank heists, hence the multiple characters you can control. the made it so that you learn how to process things from different people in different positions on the map, in order to be ready to coordinate like that with people online.

Yeah.. I usually play for a long while until I get tired of it.. Mainly like after I finish everything but I still have to level 100 times so I can beat the last boss lol.. Then I just put in a code and stomp em to see the ending.. Well that's only been a few of the ones I did anyway..
GTA V sounds fun as hell

it is, but it's a fucking time sink and it's not like you can run your shit in the city really easily. you have join a "crew" if you wanna be able to do the big "heists" and make the big bucks.
if you join a crew, the game is infinitely fun though. just run around and like... haha, just play stupid games... i saw one online, two peeps were trying to leap from a bridge onto an oncoming car, and whoever stuck the landing won. i mean, c'mon... that and just about everything else... it's hysterical.
(i really shouldn't have traded it in, my peeps are playing online i should have waited a bit to get the game... build up some hype... oh well)

ya, so i've heard. damn launch bugs. the big selling point for the PS4 was connectivity and games...
so far, none of those is working. oh well, soon enough some even more bad ass games should fix everything. so far, all we got is Knack, Resogun and the new KZ. (though they all look very fancy, for now)

Excited about Destiny, though I won't lie and pretend like I wasn't hoping for something that was a bit more Mass Effect meets EVE Online. Yeah it's dumb but a bitch can dream...get drunk, rant about it on a forum...and then dream some more.
Sometimes I miss old school Halo, you know before they nerfed the fuck out of the shotgun and you couldn't pop domes like cantelopes with the pistol through zoom. The last one I played was 4 and I don't think I made it through the full campaign.
The game play looks awesome to me and I like that they haven't slowed down the movement of the characters. I know a lot of GoW fans are gonna kick my teeth in, but I found the clunky molasses like movements of the PC's to be a huge turn-off. Halo spoiled me with quicker reaction times where it didn't feel like my rippling muscles somehow impeded my ability to run like a normal person.
So yep! Totally on the Destiny bandwagon until proven otherwise.
Though I am HELLA glad I read the reviews of CoD: Ghosts before I plopped the money down for it because daaaaamn. *cringe*

yep, it's a generalization. people are really truly unsure of what makes a game... and what gives it merit.
they just kinda vomit all their shit up.
that being said though, i certainly have been sick of COD since Respawn. but... they actually have done a good job at making as much strides as they can with the formula.... it's just that i don't like the games, that much, personally. because they're trying to be TOO realistic and Ghosts actually remedies that a bit for me... that and Black Ops 2. (but i never got a chance to play it)

Aw come on dude. I'm all about the nostalgia. I liked CoD best when I was storming Stalingrad and stopped once they went "modern". The only thing that turned me onto Ghosts was that some of the trailers/clips made it look like they would be fighting aliens.
Turned out to be false. Since most people are only playing for Multi-player it seems they were like "Fuck this campaign bullshit" and flipped the table over. No impetus for me to buy it. *shrug*

people will like waht they like. i don't like alot of games too, but being a major fan of gaming, i try to be as impartial to genre or franchise fatigue as possible, considering in production cycles for new consoles, franchises and developers in general, things have to be constantly improved on, hence the existence of multiple titles per genre or franchise, and so on...
to improve a game to new unforseen heights, is what game developers do. they can win the hearts of everyone though.

Black Ops 1, by all means was probably a good game. it was a favorite of the entire gaming community, of a COD game.
i never played it though, because again... realism... military stuff... doesn't draw me.

How to tell you're a gamer.
Complain about lack of original games.
Hesitate to play games you've never heard of/new releases.

yep, there is alot of those. i personally don't end up beating alot of games, because they take up alot of my time; that i'd rather be spending doing something else... but i try and play every game that i can; because i like to see innovation and new stuff in games, regardless of platform or genre.
for example... i love everything about RPGs... especially turn based RPG's because they're usually solely about narrative and they usually have fantastic scores, great boss battles and set piece battles... HUGE landscapes and loads o content; GREAT characters and writing... and yet, i hardly ever play one to the end. not because it's bad, but because i have my own intentions playing video games... but to deny that they're good games, for the fact that i don't feel like playing them all that much, would be asinine.

It was more enjoyable then I thought it would be.
The bosses have a lot of health though so you expect to die, if everyone dies at the same time the boss gets his health back somewhat and there is a delay of 30 seconds which put you at a check point or about 3 seconds if someone brings you back.
The closest thing to it would probably be mass effect in first person, the game did not struggle at all to play at all in 1080p and I didn't notice any pop in whatsoever.
I beleive the x1 version may have better contrast due to the way they encode it, but I played it on the ps4.
One thing that might bother people is that the shadow effects with the flashlight aren't extra-ordinary, the phsyical objects shadows are pretty much static, but that could change with a mod or a release version of the game since a lot of games leave out effects up until that point.
If I had extra money lying around I'd pick it up but I'm probably going to wait around for 'the evil withen' and re-sell that when I'm finished.
Wish this game was out NOW instead..
