Anybody else excited as fuck for this game? It's made by Bungie, who made Halo series of course and it looks fucking sweet. Kinda like an MMOFPS. Players will be able to team-up on missions, MMO style, then go their separate ways, all dynamically. And I think they said there will be no subscription? But im not sure. They have a level system too, 1-20 i think.
Since halo went downhill pretty quick, this is pretty much gonna be my new Halo fix. Here is some gameplay
I haven't been this excited since Halo 2

Looks really interesting; however, like all game I buy, I'm waiting for some reviews and the possibility of a used copy.

i missed the eighties, so i never had the run ins with NES deaths, or playing all night and not figuring out what to do and getting nowhere. that must have been glorious for the 80's gamer.

well, i've liked a few new games, that... i just happen to also be disappointed in.
like GTA5 and Last of Us... i just am critical and picky, i suppose. but those games had alot of cool things going for them, but then disappointed me in various ways as well. like GTA5's story and characters were not written even half as funny as in previous installments; while all the other bits like the TV, Movies and Radio were all written hilariously and made practically start bawling with LOLs. that and the physics really made rampaging around the city, much more muted and less bombast; which is what i really liked about GTA4. plus, the mimic of the San Andreas map, although keen in it's design, just doesn't beat out being able to unlock and travel freely between islands. there is more outdoors with nothing in it, then there is city.
but the presentation of GTA5 (and of course the graphics) completely wreak GTA4's. i mean, Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack for the game, for frig sakes. that's some hardcore production values, there.

Yeah man.. The Last of Us was fucking awesome.. I wasn't really disappointed with it at all really. I had a few times where I got frustrated but it was the perfect mix of gameplay for me personally.
I want to play GTA V. I have it for PS3 but I've been dickin around on here and on my PS4 lol.
There were a few other games I really enjoyed but I'm drawing blanks right now.
Oh yeah.. FF VII, but it's not for everyone I guess.. But Metal Gear Solid was incredible also.. I loved that game.

GTA5 is like the anti game Great satire, cannon etc but the gaming part in the last of us feels better(most of the time)
It's just really hard to free aim in GTA because of the random spawns, the distance from your character and the nighttime graphics are kind of phoney
everything else is fun, it's just Last of Us works much better as a shooter.
The side missions in GTA can be unfulfilling sometimes, it's like they punish you for not finding the hidden gems.

Metal Gear is one of the best, man. presentation through the roof. same with FF7. great music, great levels, great art design, great innovative gameplay and great plot and story arcs.
the only reason i was disappointed with Last of Us was because everything sorta hinged on the animation, and there was a sorta free floating feel to the game. made it difficult to feel dire need to run away and avoid targets, and even made it difficult (until it was patched) to feel out how to be stealthy and avoid detection from the Clickers. sometimes they'd glitch out and just detect you for no reason, too. that and when your side characters ran around the enemies and somehow made tons of noise and were visible to them, yet they're never attacked nor do they give away your presence. sorta took away some of the immersion factor.
plus, i didn't get to finish the game either; which of course kills it. i plan on getting it again, though, to finish it... one thing i really liked about the gameplay and plot arc was how you're constantly being pushed to new battles and they're all so harrowingly realistic sometimes that you come to the next area, battered and bruised, and you just get thrust into more deadly battles. plus, how the battles keep switching up from dealing with clickers, then humans, then more clickers, and then humans AND clickers.
they really switched it up alot. great story arc, BUT if you stop midway though the game, and take a break for a week... well to me, anyways, the sorta "urgency" gets lost, and is kinda hard to get back; which is what made me lose interest.

there is alot of punishment in GTA5. the cops are super overpowered (though i like their new tactics), you have to ride to every destination, as if something new is gonna happen on the way there (not), you have no crouch function (wtf, why did they remove the...?) ect ect ect

I dunno maybe they patched it before I played.. Probably not though, I think I played as soon as it was released.. I just got so emotionally attached to the characters.. i did have a little trouble here and there with gameplay pissing me off or detracting from things but it was still one of the best games I've ever played.
Yeah stopping for a while can do that.. I played it continuously until I beat it.

that's where i fucked up. i can't do that, it always fucks me up. it's why i've never beaten an RPG (save one, CHRONO TRIGGER) i always lose track of what i was doing and why, and what story bits that haven't been concluded yet, i'm like "so how does this work with this and connect to that" and there isn't no answer yet, so i'm just like "i gotta start over again".
and i never finish, because RPGs are usually 50 hours long!

i'd recommend playing some GTA Online. it's like the whole development of the game is a training for getting you into the Online portion of the game. you (minor spoiler) do missions to practice your precision in coordinating bank heists, hence the multiple characters you can control. the made it so that you learn how to process things from different people in different positions on the map, in order to be ready to coordinate like that with people online.
