Inocybe? Western Washington ID request
    #19149131 - 11/17/13 10:46 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Just to break up the cyan festival ... I think this is a psilocybin containing Inocybe... But I could be and seem frequently to be wrong

Habitat: western Washington forest
Ground or moss area

Didnt do a spore print.... Was going to but...

Didn't really get any smell really... Brusing on the base of the stem...

Close up of stem

Anyone able to tell me about it

No... Not eating it

That's not bruising, it's just blue.  If it was bruising it would get bluer in the places you damage it.

Is it staining red where damaged?

Was thinking it was I. calamistrata... The blue was very noticeable and Alan is right of course... Not bruising per se...
I do believe I had red brusing where cut...
Afraid I didn't keep it ... Cool looking mushroom

Not sure you folks have read this ...

If it was staining red where cut, it is Inocybe hirsuta var. maxima.

Either way it might be one of the edible Inocybe species according to Matheny 2013.
