Getting involved in ticket scalping

Figured I got the drop on when tickets went on sale and figured extending some credit on my credit card (at no cost, but it will take longer to pay off now) and got the highest priced tickets, and I think these are first minute tickets, I called in like the first little bit.
I ordered the paper tickets for the extra shaft in your ass price of 5 bucks each after already charging me 2 seperate fees already adding 20 bucks already to the pice.
Now just to hold onto them in a safe place, advertise the goods, hopefull a lot of fans who don't aren't scalping buy em up so someone realy ponies up the dough

Meh, if it wasn't him it would just be someone else. I don't like the whole scalping thing, but I've had friends bail on shows that I got tickets to, so I put em up on stubhub for a ridiculous price (thinking no one would pay that and maybe my friend will change their mind), then someone buys the ticket(s) and I essentially go to the show for free

I hope there are so many extra tickets floating around that people are just giving them away, and you're left holding tickets that no one is willing to even pay face for.

So you guys think buying an item at a certain price and then reselling it later when its more valuable is wrong.
WTF????
(I have never sold a ticket above face value)

Concert tickets, yes. Scalpers keep real fans out of shows. Tickets are expensive enough as it is, then add in scalping. Not everyone can afford to spend $300 for a ticket.

We got a 5000$ penalty in Ontario for scalpers if they get caught selling above the ticket price. 50000$ if a corporation is doing it

Yeah I wouldn't do it either (buying or selling,) but I don't see it as being immoral. The seller rightfully owns the ticket and the buyer is free to refuse their asking price. If the original seller doesn't want the tickets to be resold, they should associate each ticket with the concertgoer's name and get them to show ID when using it. Otherwise it's natural that they would be traded as commodities.

Reselling tickets is straight up gambelling. Since stubhub has gotten popular it can be harder to make money. You win some lose some

You have a point. Supply and demand. Just how enthusiastic are we about the free market when it comes to certain things?

This, and Koraks statement.
Hey, I imagine I will make at least a little bit of money, especially with really decent seats, and I want to go myself but it's sort of not in the cards either way because it isn't like I have much money these days.
What about the fact that a lot of people can't even find when tickets go on sale first, maybe something keeps them from it but they want tickets at whatever price.
By the way, two seperate charge AND a five dollar fee PER TICKET just to get it on paper? Isn't the only outfit with tickets, it;s like they advertise a price so high already and then tack on fees, that's what the ticket really costs in "convenience fees" it's like I wouldn't even do it if corporations weren't already in the game and driving only a certain subset of scalpers.
This of course gouges me up front because I can only really afford to grab the best tickets I can get if I can only grab two. I can ride the market until it gets to be risky to hold on and then maybe let em go for less than what others charge for tickets that aren't even as good.
It isn't my fault that it's a commodity, and it's not like I am pushing serious money at this, I would be in Broncos tickets if I was manufacturing and had a bunch of excess drug money lying around, not concert tickets unless maybe I could shaft Nicki Minaj fans for the suprising popularity she has and buy em by the shitload without much regard to doing anything but jacking up the price even just a little bit.

the thing that keeps people from being able to get tickets when they go on sale is jackasses who buy blocks of tickets without any intention of going to the show... scalping a ticket is a dick move, no matter how you rationalize it...
