I was neutral in high school.
I thought the "cool" ppl were douchebags, so I didn't hang out with them. I had a cool group of musicians I hung around and got stoned with, and they were cool.
You gotta define "cool"

I alternated. It seemed like one year I was the coolest shit there, athletic and funny and social then the next I was just a loner and didn't talk to anyone. It was really weird actually. Looking back I realize now that some of the most gorgeous girls I've ever met really had feelings for me and I passed em up for decent girls because I figured I couldn't pull girls like that. Some of em are models now and shit and date male models and shit. It's crazy. I wish I'd had bigger balls back then. I even confirmed this by talking to them online after years of not seeing them. Of course now they are all taken or pregnant or have babies and I'm like...ugh, doomed to be single.
Fuck it, really missed out on a lot in my early years.

Middle school was terrible, but I found my niche my freshman year. I wouldn't say I was "cool", but I was definitely popular
I can't believe I'm about to graduate. I mean, fuck . . . it's almost over.

I was pretty much well liked in high school. To the point that teachers and students would miss me on days I skipped or didnt go to class. Idk why, though, because although I was the funny dude, I mostly slept through most of my classes. Lunch was a bitch cause I had different groups that always wanted me to chill with but I always ended up hanging with this chick I wanted to bang and never got to.
Idk if Im cool now. I still have peeps that always want to hang with me. University and work is completely different from highschool. High school was 20% work, 80% dicking around and making friends. University and work is more serious, like 90% work, 5% waiting for your break, 5% eating. No one wants to chill or talk. Niggas go to class to go to class and move on with their day. And I dont blame them

Haha same here: from 9th grade to 11th. We were the "weird kids" and "druggies"
I dropped out and so did a lot of my click I fit it with the popular sect tho, because of middle school connections.
Now a days I don't chill with anyone significant, because In the real world everyone is the same.

I was considered cool because I would get completely obliterated and go to school tripping. I am cool now because I am out of highschool and sober. I don't consider the yearly trip as drug use though.

I was "cool" earlier on in public school. Then in High school I was the "cool stoner" that was affluent with several cliques.

definitely not. i got a lot of shit all throughout my K-12. now, i dunno. i think that some of the students i tutor maybe think i'm cool, it's hard to say. it's never been a priority for me to have people like me, though. i'm more concerned with liking myself than what others think.
these days, i think i'm pretty swell.

Sloth from what I've seen recently you are a great person. You have a rockin body, good sense of humor, you're smart, great body, (so sexy worth sayin twice) and ALOT of people on here seem to love you. If anybody doesn't think you are "cool" they are seriously mistaken and I'm sure a lot people on here would gladly confirm this. You have every reason to be confident in your life and your self. As always stay beautiful and good vibes to you.

heh, thanks. that's very kind of you to say. looks aside, i always try and put out what i'd like to get back. it doesn't really have anything to do with being cool and everything to do with trying to be someone i myself would want to be around. i'm really trying to be as awesome as i can be.
i appreciate your words, it means a lot.

I am a firm believer in karma and treating people the way you yourself would like to be treated. I was a very bad person and it ended up coming back to me 10 fold. So now I try to encourage people to see the best in themselves and feel confident in their day to day lives. I was really using the word "cool" loosely. I meant it more along the lines of if anyone doesn't appreciate you for you they can get bent. Of course you are very welcome. Ps sorry op and mods for off topic lol.

I was very cool, but I smoked pot so I happened to hang out with a lot of sociopaths and narcissistic people. It used to be a thing for people who didn't graduate school, now it seems pretty much standard for people.

I dunno about "cool". I guess I was well liked. I didn't really have a clique. I was a loner, Legend. A rebel.
No, but seriously, I could hang with the stoners/skaters, the "popular" kids, the band geeks, etc. It seemed like a knew lots of people from any crowd. But only at school. I didn't have a tight group that I hung out with outside of school. The only people I hung out with outside of school were boyfriends and whatever friends they had I actually dislike most people

yeah my biggest failure was not keeping all my friends close, not trying to stick with people, not having a job all the time, taking forever to decide what to do with my life etc.
ever since like 2nd grade I've dropped some friends just because they weren't 'cool' when I should have done the opposite the entire time
probably why I'm so weak now...

Yeah...that's one thing I'd change about myself. I NEVER call people I consider good friends to keep the relationship going. They call me and text me and we'll talk for a bit. But I really never reach out to them. I always end up losing touch with some really awesome people. Or if "new" people come along, things never progress into an amazing friendship. I mean, I have a wedding coming up in about a year and a half...and I have no one. It's like so bad, that I thought my Mom could be my matron of honor. It's pathetic really.
Again, at work it's like everyone likes me, I just can't seem to make a deep connection. It makes me sad, bros

Man I ALWAYS felt like I was in the B class group of friends, still do to this day which is the reason why I don't hang out with those people often anymore. So within that B class group of freinds, I'd say I was generally well liked, even in the A class of friends I'm well liked but once I quit drinking as often as they do and moved away I kinda fell off the grid.

Shit like recently within the year I went on a skiing trip with a few friends in the A class (like me and 5 other freinds) and like 2 months after we got back I was talking to one of the guys who went and during the conversation he was telling me something that happened and I was like "yeah dude, I was there remember"? He was like "OH YEAH! I remember, you came with us". Yup, gotta love being in the second tier of friendship

Well back in school I didn't hang out with the cool kids, we called em preps , but I was alright with them all and they liked me, I just didn't enjoy hanging out with them Had a small group of great friends and we just enjoyed ourselves everyday. Good times..

I realised that in every group of people (alternative, nerd, skater, hip-hop, whatever sub-culture there was) there were usually one or two people that were really themselves. The rest were usually wannabe's or followers.
I spent my time in high school walking around hanging out with the people that were themselves. So my lunch breaks were spent walking from one group to another usually.
It was good, but the downside was that I never belonged to one group so I never really got invited to group activities.
However, I did have a nice varied group of contacts that I liked.
I guess I was a friend to very few but respected and appreciated by everyone.

I know it's hard to believe, but take my word guise, I wasn't always kool. For realz.
I only started to realize how cool I really am because of things people would say to me, like I was too cool for school. Sometimes I'll talk about boring shit in my life, and people will tell me that it was a cool story, and even call me brah or broseff, which are like secret words for cool people,
So, obvs. I'm cool.
TL;dr = I'm cool.

Why do people drop out of high school? Seriously cool question here.
Highschool is like the easiest thing in the entire world, and that's coming from me; who didn't know basic math until after I went to college which I learnt there practically just from watching youtube videos. Granted I cheated in math class a few times and usually took the easier math classes (in high school) but still passed my finals and whatnot. Seriously highschool is pretty much you just show up and study minimally if at all, and hang out with people all day.
I don't mean to preach but I can guarantee most people who dropped out regret it now, am I right?

I was a total loser in middle school/early high school. Lost 50 lbs, joined cross country, wasn't "preppy" or whatever but I had more friends than I could realistically keep up with and found it obnoxious more than anything. So my last couple years of high school I was cordial/en par-ish with the "coolest" kids but preferred my small tribe of XC friends/my 2 best friends to anything conventionally "cool".
In and right before college, I was one of those people that was gregarious and socially fearless... was usually the one who found parties for my dorm crew to go to. Even when I started getting way too into drugs (i.e. dealt with addiction and overdose for the first time), I had nurses and whatnot tell me I'm "hard not to like". I hope that's still the case but I suspect I have some work to do.
I fucked that up partially and let it atrophy the last year and a half so we'll see how it goes when I go back. Some of my best old friends still stay in touch and I figure the fact that I'll be 23 and living in the dorms (alcohol buying age=21 ), I'll find myself popular whether I like it or not.
One thing that's always--ALWAYS--rang true though is that a lot of people just love me (perhaps most, until natural social interaction distills it down to who I really "get along with") but that a sizable minority simply hate me hate me hate me.
It's fun that way

My brother in law was a high school dropout. I think he was too busy doing drugs and shit like that to care. He ended up getting into computer programming kinda early and it worked out for him. I think eventually his job made him get a GED, like maybe 5 or 6 years ago? I dunno, he had been working there for a while without even a GED.

yes because I didn't give a shit about what everyone did and did my own thing, usually small core group of friends but I mingled with everyone. Towards junior/senior year got a lot more attention from/hooked up with some hot scenester/drama chicks - which was sweet. Same deal for college.
no because I generally was a mellow, introspective dude (still am) and didn't have the drive to try to impress people that it seemed the popular kids had. That and I thought football was a stupid sport (still do).
fuck being cool tho just be yourself

I always got along pretty well with just about everyone in highschool, but I wouldn't say I was in the "cool" group. Unless you consider the stoner and burnout crew as cool.
