Today I experienced total freedom - shed all fear. Profoundly liberating and mystical
    #19146643 - 11/16/13 07:34 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Still coming down but the experience was so profound I felt a need to just share it with SOMEONE.

Took 6g of cubenosis(which I grew following the teks here so very rewarding experience in all).

Went out to a natural park near the house. It's a really cool place. Has two natural caves which were absolutely mind-blowing. There was green moss growing down the walls and the interplay of the light with the shadows made it a surreal experience.

About 3 hours in I was sitting on a rock outcropping and there was a family climbing up toward me. My first inclination was to move and avoid them because I felt really self conscious. But then I decided to just stay with the experience and push through that anxiety.

After pushing through that anxiety it was like I literally broke out of a prison in my own mind. I felt all of the social anxiety just shed and felt so at ease with these people around me.

And from there the experience just progressed. I literally felt zero fear and climbed up a really steep rock face. Absolutely zero fear. It was the most liberating experience I've ever felt. In that state I knew anything and everything was possible. There was such a sense of power and freedom.

I now understand what people mean when they say a "mystical" experience. I now understand what true freedom is.

Freedom is not a thing granted to us by governments. Freedom is not a thing that can be taken away by others. True freedom can only be obtained by freeing yourself from your fears. Anything short of that is an illusion.

I wish I could adequately describe how incredible this freedom from fear was. I felt as I would imagine a wholly realized human being should feel. Absolutely free. Absolutely alive. Unbound. Limitless.

Which was more scary, the family approaching or climbing a steep rock face?

Definitely had more anxiety when the family was approaching. It was like - aw shit, little kids, I'm high as fuck. What do.

When I decided to climb the rock face it was this sense of complete freedom. I knew there was the possibility of falling, but also knew that I wouldn't. But also knew that it'd be fine if I did.

My god true freedom is brilliant. Now it's to figure out how to integrate it into every day life.

There should be nothing to "integrate".  You are either free, or you are not.

That's an interesting perspective. Maybe it's as simple as the choice of not "coming back to reality."

Hah and now that I think about it - I am experiencing FEAR that this state of FEARLESSNESS won't stay with me. How ironic is that.

The reality is the fear will return.  We are talking more of freedom.  Not freedom to never be afraid, but freedom from the chains that bind you.  If it truly is fear per se that is holding you in prison, that would be one thing.  But the fear is merely a symptom.

:kaneclap: You got it!  I'm really glad to read this post.  Makes me really happy that others are experiencing liberation on a level like this.  Really reminded me of a post I made a while back, if you've got time, check out the quote from the book I left in it.  That passage just reminds me of this "liberation".
Quote:

While far above the highest mountains in California another aspect of my consciousness soars like a winged poetry: and knows, somehow, more about what is coming that Dr. Troll's Seismograph: for I am the last, truly the last. The ecologists are right: mine is not merely an endangered but nearly an extinct species, and my senses have been sharpened beyond instinct by these last years.  I circle around, I circle around, I soar: I bank: I float. I am, rare moment for me! Not thinking about fish, for my belly is full at present. I circle around, circle around, thinking only about the soaring, the freedom, and more vaguely, about the bad vibes coming up from below.  Must you have a name?  Call me Hali One, then: haliaeetus leucocephalus the last: symbol once of imperial Rome and now of imperial America: of which I neither know nor care, for all I know is the freedom of my estate and about that the Romans and the Americans have never had aught but the most confused and distorted ideas.  Wearing my long green feathers I circle around. I am Hali One and I scream, not with rage or with fear or with anger; I scream echoes from mountain to another mountain, resonating onward and onward, a sound that only another of my species could understand, and none are left to hear it.  But still I scream: the shriek of Shiva the Destroyer, true face of Vishnu the Preserver and Brahma the Creator: for my scream is not of life or death but of life-in-death, and I am equally contemptuous of Perri and of August Personage, of squirrels and of men, and of all lesser birds who cannot ascend to my height and know the agony and supremacy of my freedom.

yes the fear is merely a symptom of experiencing yourself as separate from Reality. As soon as the feeling of separateness arises, the potential for fear arises with it. The freedom you experienced, was the natural freedom inherent in life. But as soon as you begin concieving of yourself as having a life instead of being life, you will again be subject to fear should the right circumstances arise.

That doesn't mean your experience was not valuable, it just means you have lots and lots of hard work to do if you want it to become anything more than just a temporary experience you had one time. But who wouldn't want that? The hard work is so totally worth it, so I am not trying to discourage you. On the contrary, I wish to encourage you, but just be aware that it is a long and frustarting road to enlightenment for most people.

Your reward is , as the Holy Bible puts it, the perfect love that casts out all fear.

Very few if any make it to enlightenment.  So the odds against you are fairly astronomical.

Not many chime in with their own, and want a free ticket. Some crack it and chip in with their own blends. Most want the make believe title and the crown that they wear to feed their ego.

Gotta be careful there, my friend.  When I enter "zero fear" mode, that's when I look for a safe place and sit down.

In this mode, you -- your consciousness -- "know" your being, your essence, is invincible.  Your body, however, remains a fragile bag of blood and bones.

Be safe.

Stay away from steep rock faces when you're having "The Experience."

Mushrooms in particular have a strong edge of fear in the come up.  I don't believe that the reality of overcoming fear is a reality of choice.  So the idea that you overcame fear is sort of misleading. I do believe however that you allowed the trip to mature past the fearful comeup to the joyful trip itself.  I used to experience this every time I tripped on shrooms. I believe that tripping in general has to do not just with serotonin but the specific way that serotonin floods the brain in an immediate manner which in turn activates many levels of psychophysiologicaL responsiveness including elevated blood pressure and increased fight or flight sensation.  After about an hour that mellows out as the psychophysiology mellows out and then turns into pleasure.

So in short you allowed the trip to progress in natural stages without becoming overwhelmed at thew comeup by the sensation of horror which the body feels as the shrooms engaged the existential underpinnings and brought them to the surface. Once exposed they weren't so frightful after all.
