Question for Americans
    #19146321 - 11/16/13 05:51 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Can you name the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada without Googling it?

This applies to any foreigner I guess.

Be honest please

Nope.

Now a question for the Canadian:

Can you spell "territory"?

(I'll give you a hint, the answer is no, you can't.)

Could name them but not put them on a map, either way its not important. I've traveled through most of the country and lived in half a dozen states but it still doesn't matter.

Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Colombia, Ontario, Quebec, Labrador, Newfundland and Nunavut.

Im not a typical American though, Im almost autistic about geography.

I want to see someone name all the territories of something more difficult, like China, Brazil or Russia.

We are the big dawg, not you.  It's your job to know our name, not the other way round.

Does a CEO of a large company know the names of all of his employees?  Nope, but they all know his.

Does an NFL player know the name of every fan?

Do I know the names of all the Canadian hosers I have beaten the crap out of for smelling so much like maple and hockey sweat?  Fuck no... but they ALL know my name!  I carve it into their foreheads.

Prince Edward Island
Alberta
Nova Scotia
Ontario
Quebec
Manitoba
British Columbia
NW Territories
Nunavet
Newfoundland
Yukon Territories

Forgot New Brunswick and Saskatchewan, though I'm kinda surprised I forgot about Saskatchewan because it has a sweet name. I guess I also forgot that it's Newfoundland and Labrador. And I spelled Nunavut wrong.

I also didn't know there were 10 provinces and 3 territories. That made it easier remembering some of the provinces. I know almost all of these except BC, Toronto, and Quebec because I went to the Boy Scouts Canadian National Jamboree on PEI when I was younger and met a lot of people from different places (even some Nunavut kids) and drove through a bunch of provinces.

I could probably name a city or two. There's Toronto, Ontario, and that place the Trailer Park Boys are from.

I have no desire to learn about Canada.

Unless that thing about Peyote being legal is true. That shit would be chill.

Do you have a source for that claim? The wording seems pretty clear to me that it's legal period. Of course if you extract then it's no longer botanically peyote so the exception would no longer apply.

Not an official one because I can't seem to find it, but here's one from a mescaline website http://www.buymescaline.com/buy-mescaline/buy-peyote-cactus/ where it says "Canada – Legal. Illegal if prepared for consumption"

Edit: It seems that dried peyote is legal though

I do know of at least one Canadian site that sells it dried, but I believe we are not allowed to link such things here. I think they intentionally wanted to allow for peyote consumption because of the religious use, but wanted to avoid setting a precedent for religious exemptions that might also be applied to marijuana and whatever else.

After a little research, I found its as follows: both dried and fresh peyote are legal, consumption is not and therefore you could get in trouble if intent to consume was proven but its very unlikely.

Here is the link for the Controlled Substances Act listing of scheduled drugs:

http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/csj-sjc/jsp-sjp/qa02_2-qr02_2/a.html

Quote:

Schedule III
...
17. Mescaline and any salt thereof, but not peyote (lophophora)

My reasoning is that it says that mescaline falls under Schedule III but peyote does not, nor does it fall under any of the other schedules. No mention is made there about the exemption for peyote being neutralized if it is consumed or if there is demonstrable proof of intent to consume. It appears to me not to fall under Schedule III or any other schedule period, as long as it still qualifies botanically as peyote/Lophophora. I believe that the idea that peyote is illegal to consume in Canada is just a myth that has been repeated online.
