Idk about a wolf. But my grandpa found a fox cub and raised it, but he said he could never tame it like a dog, it was too timid to be around many people. Seen pictures of it sittin in his lap and playin with toys and stuff though.

Foxes make great pets. Good luck with a wolf though

I've been thinking about trying to trap the coyotes that have been howling like hell the past couple nights.  I'd definitely attempt to raise a pup if I got one.

No, I don't think that it would work very well. You could raise it sure, but I doubt it would do well around other people or dogs.

Dogs are 'tame' due to tens of thousands of years of unnatural selection by human beings.  A pure wolf or fox will never be 100% tame in it's lifetime;  there is just too much wild instinct left in them.

Behavioral and physical manifestations of genes appear to be intertwined, and interestingly I have heard of foxes which are being domesticated, and the genetic differences which lead a fox to be tame tend to result in some of the same physical traits we see in dogs:  floppier ears, etc.

Idk about foxes, but I know people do this with wolves, if you train them well they seem to be very well behaved and loyal.

They have videos on YouTube of people that have wolves for pets, check a few out.

My grandmas neighbor use to have a few wolves, but he didn't give them the attention they deserved so they were kind of mean.

I also knew a couple that raised silver foxes, they seemed to take good care of them, but they kept them outside in cages because they would try to run away. They didn't seem to listen very well though, you couldn't even pick most of them up.

If I ever get settled down and wind up in a rural area I always planned on getting a wolf, they're cooler than dogs IMO.

I once was stalked by coyotes out in the woods on shrooms.  I do not want a coyote.

If you want a wild animal as a pet why not go for a fucking ocelot. Or a caracalla.

Hmm, that's funny. When I'm on shrooms, I like to stalk the local coyotes. They're cool to watch with night vision goggles.

How fucking fantastic.  I didn't know one could stalk a pack of coyotes in the midst of a hard mushroom comeup.
