I'm sure you are right. My novice ass just wants to be in denial, but hey my contamination rate has still gone down since the first try! (marginally, but still: )

change jars. they should be as tall as they are wide for the pf-tek brf jars! Moisture draws to the bottom, the cake gets compact at the bottom, they stall etc etc

Yeah, unfortunately I went and bought my jars and my very first spore syringe (PE) without doing enough research. I thought a half-pint was a half-pint . I'm trying out grains for the next grow, so I may just leave the half-pints behind.

Yup, he's bulk all the way, and all the info you would ever need and more on monotubs! The way to grow bulk. If you have a PC it's just as easy as cakes.

Here is a picture of one tray and my cakes:

They have been in fruiting conditions for about 11 days now, and I haven't seen any signs of pinning. I also have seen no visible signs of contamination. The humidity has been around 95 all day, then drops into the high 80s while I'm asleep. Temps around 70(though it dropped down to 60 one day), and a 12/12 light schedule.
I guess I just want to ask if I'm missing something, or if the fruiting is just going at a snail's pace. I have tried to fan a little more in the last few days to get extra fae/evaporation, but so far nothing. Should I just say to hell with it and start over? Thanks!

eyewell, the first batch didn't fruit in time so i had to leave it to its fate. some kind of black mold growing in the substrate with amber colored spots on top. i threw it out before i could take a picture.
anyway, the Brazil are going in the sgfc today. they look well colonized but one might have cobweb. i just got back so I'll keep an eye on the fuzzy stuff.
also, my treasure coast grain jars are richly colonized! no contamination at all even though i steam sterilized (for about 9 hours). pictures to come!

Hey friends, I could use some help. I can't tell if I'm seeing my first ever pins, or if this is some kind of black/yellow mold. First off, here are my 3 bulk trays in the sgfc:

And here are some pictures of the pins or mold in question:

Thanks for the help!
