I wasn't referring to you... I don't know you personal situation. But there are certain thresholds of coverage that your plan must meet. If they don't find a new plan that your doctor accepts.

Now for people willing to take the risk with no coverage. They still have the option of ER care, and thus need to be payed for. Irrelevant of if they want to or not. We are all buying healthcare together already, this is a move in the right direction.

Isn't that what we already had?  Bums got shitty doctors and other people got better doctors.

Here is what I object to.  Only doctors in network get paid.  Only hospitals in network get paid.  Mental health coverage.  Rehab coverage.  Maternity coverage.  Lactation counseling coverage.  Regular checkup coverage.  There's more but that's a good start

A universal system wouldn't have those issues

And your doctor may get more popular because he's good, but we would all be provided the same services for much lower cost.

And poor people would get treatment before they had a serious health condition. Which is really the biggest point. Preventative medicine is generally the most cost efficient.

I don't want either you or the cocksucking government telling me what is appropriate for me.

I don't want to buy health insurance with you and I don't think you should want to buy health insurance with me.  We are in vastly different risk pools.

Ok well "let them pay the bill" ends in higher costs for the paying consumer.

You have to turn them away, not just pretend they are going to pay for something they will never be able to afford.

Which you don't seem to be advocating. So I think you're confused how this works

Edit - And to your point about risk pools, yea we may be in variant risk pools, but I have pre existing conditions, and I will be and old man one day hopefully. It's a reasonable price to pay.

Yes it would.  Every single one of them and more.

No you won't.  The best doctors won't sign up for shit pay and you will get fewer people actually willing to torture themselves for 12+ years to make shit money.

You seem to have this insane notion that people will go to doctors for checkups if they are free and that they mean shit.  I had free doc checks when I was married to my government worker parasite ex-wife.  I went exactly once in 20 years.  Tens of thousands of dollars that would have been put to better use in our pocket.

Ok dude, having a heart attack and going to the hospital costs a lot more than being told that if you don't change your habits you will soon die.

What is wrong with you?

We'll just ignore all the advances in modern medicine that are preventative.

Why not?  Most people buy their houses with only a small percent down.

I'm not confused about how it works or your motivation.  You want me to buy you shit.

I'm an old man now and you have shown that you are panhandling to get me to pay for your care.  I'd rather not.

My pre existing condition is asthma, and hasn't cost me a cent since my childhood. I recognize I'm not invincible, not that your argument has anything to do with the topic at hand.

Yea you're not rational

Why even have insurance if this is your view? What the fuck are you going to the doctor for? Just go to the ER when a doctor you like is on staff. We both know why you don't

I'm done with this, you're not rational. When you leave the bubble let me know

The only rational action for a young heslthy male is to not have health insurance.  Why does this concept rock your world?  It's a fucking waste of money.

By 2020 or 2022 at the latest the GOP will be a regional party with no national power. Demographics will make it so. And the ACA hasn't begun yet, there's no way to know yet if people will like it or not. So far all there is are some stodgy people complaining about things about to be slightly different and they don't like it because they're set in their ways. It'll take at least 8 years before we know whether Americans on the whole will like the ACA or not. Of course that doesn't stop the partisans from making up things and stirring up people in a reactionary way like they always do.

Not so.  I want to have legitimate discussions, and I have a goal.  I am wondering if it is possible to teach a Moonbat to think and make decisions logically instead of thinking and making decisions with emotions. :smirk:

You guys think you are "not driven by emotion"? Virtually every post out of you whackos is driven by one emotion: disgust. Crazy you can talk about trying to teach people to see things logically when all you really want is karmic consequences, I.e, for the "losers" to take it up the ass as much as possible because they revolt you. You all don't give two shits about changes that would improve net outcomes.

Your one mission is to teach us how some people are complete pieces of shit and should be treated as such. This has nothing to do with logical thinking and everything to do with being a vicious asshat.
