Mailed my friend a half O of boomers accross the country. I used a USPS Priority Envelope and it made it to the local USPS sort facility, however it didnt get delivered the day it was estimated. It should be delivered Tuesday because of veterans day. My question is would they search mail upon departure or once it arrives at the destination? I assumed because it already got off the plane it wouldn't be scrutinized anymore. Also, is MDMA something drug dogs are comoonly traied to look for?

An envelope? Really?
You've got your thinking wrong as well. Its more likely to be scrutinized at the delivery location than at the departing location. In all likely-hood shippers are going to use a fake return address and name, but someone has to receive the package at some point so its almost always easier to catch the recipient than it is the sender. I work in transportation (not the USPS) and I've seen packages scrutinized for drugs both at the shipping point and the receiving point, meaning both inbound and outbound packages, but there were always more eyes looking at the inbound packages than the outbound packages. Where I was it was almost always the same single guy checking outbound packages, and after he moved on to a different job I almost never saw anyone else checking outbound packages.

They could search it on either side.
They probably won't though, unless you did something stupid like put a fake return address. (always use a real return address that is not yours).
I think a good way to mail illegal things is the flat rate boxes. That way it looks nice and uniform and there is little to make it stand out.
Use computer printed address labels and follow all the guidelines in http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7724870

Matter closed against postal inspection includes First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, and Priority Mail Express. The USPS may open mail other than First-Class Mail, Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express to determine whether the proper postage is paid. Material wrapped or packaged so that it cannot be examined easily or examined without destruction or serious damage is closed against postal inspection and is charged the appropriate First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, or Priority Mail Express price.

They'll need a warrant to search.

The difficulty in getting a warrant to open packages is over-rated in my experience. My experience is not with the USPS however. Most people say USPS is safer because of the warrant requirement, and it may well be, but the cops had no problems getting warrants for other express packages based on suspicious package guidelines and drug dog hits. Just because the other transportation services reserve the right to open your package doesn't mean the cops don't get warrants to open them anyway.

Made it to my friend! Any thoughts on packaging MDMA?

Bubble mailer envelope that looks like its from ebay, real return address that is not yours.
Boxes might get drug dog sniffed occasionally, but almost certainly not envelopes.

Use a bubble mail envelope, I'd either try and get someone else (perhaps a homeless man) to buy the envelope, and stamps. When packaging, use nitrile gloves to avoid fingerprint contamination, and scent contamination.
Use a different layer of gloves at each step of the packaging; MDMA can be sniffed by drug dogs so try to get a vaccuum sealer, optionally you can wrap the baggie in a layer of saran wrap.
Don't get stamps that require to be licked.

You could use stamps that require to be licked... just don't lick them.. use water.

Use a vacuum sealer and double box any contraband being sent through the mail. I second the flat rate boxes.
I've said to much.

Vacuum sealing and plastic bags do little or nothing about odors. Pot odor will go through 3 layers of that in about 24 hours and a dog can alert to it. Best is to use mylar or foil and either heat seal mylar or use aluminum tape on the foil. Do that and use the other precautions and you have something.
