need help in identifying these mushrooms

I found these mushrooms at the base of an old fallen oak tree. I'm not sure but they seem to be gymnopilus junonius. They are bright yellow, were in a tight cluster and stained blueish green. I can't upload a picture on here for some reason, but I was able to post pictures of them on the mushroom observer. If anyone thinks they might be able to help me identify them, please look at the pics on there. The observation number is 152294. I greatly appreciate your time and any assistance you can offer me.

Thanks for posting the link! And yes, I agree, they are interesting:-) I'm remaining hopeful, though, that they are what I think they are.

Thank you, Alan! Does this mean that they are active and safe to eat? And, if so, what would be the dosage on these to experience a good trip?

Yes, since they have greenish stains they are active. I am not sure how much is the correct amount, but people generally eat kind of a lot. They might be better fried in butter than fresh.
The pics are not the best but I do not think the genus is in doubt.

Ok, I tasted a small piece of a cap and, to me, it didn't taste bitter. It tasted to me like a regular mushroom that you would buy in a market, like a portibello. I don't know if this changes things or not, but I figured I would mention it, just for good measure. I didn't know for sure if people say they're supposed to taste bitter because they're not regular mushroom eaters, or just don't like the taste of them. I have always enjoyed the taste of all the edibles. Please let me know if the taste is an important detail. I would not like to accidentally eat the wrong thing. I just want to be careful.

Not everyone can taste the bitter. And not all species have it.
The pictures are not very good so it is hard to see what you are eating, make sure you verify the ID with the mushroom in hand.

Ok, I took better pics and posted them on the mushroom observer. The color can be seen much better now, so I hope it will be more obvious as to what these are.

I see you've added more pics. Yes I bet that is more like the color. Thanks. Is there any green staining you can photograph?

I took some pics of one of the pins that I picked that has some green staining on it and listed them. The pics aren't as clear as the others though because it was hard to get a good pic of one so small that was clear enough to see the green, so I had to get a close-up. But they're posted:-)

Your camera might have a macro mode.

I have found that my camera auto focuses incorrectly, so even in macro mode I have to autofocus and then back the camera away a little bit until it focuses on what I want it to focus on.
That being said your pics are good enough to see some pretty amazing staining. Thanks for contributing.

Of course! I'm glad to have been able to share this great finding experience with others! Even if they weren't active, it's nice to share my findings and get opinions of others:-) But the fact that they're active makes it even better! I plan on eating some in a few hours and will post the results later:-)

I haven't seen the pics yet,but if they are active Gyms you will need to ingest about 100 to 150 gms fresh and that is probably too much for your stomach to handle. Finely chop em up and make tea. This will avoid nausea from too much mushroom matter in your belly.Don't forget to add a good amount of lemon juice, enjoy.

Ok, thank you! I shouldn't have too much trouble keeping them down, I have always been a huge fan of mushrooms of all kinds and find allthe edibles very tasty. I tasted a small piece of the cap last night and like the flavor of them. I plan on eating a lot of them but I'm hesitant to cook them because I'm afraid of cooking out some of the good stuff. I will be chopping them up and soaking them in lemon juice and going from there. If you get the chance to take a look at the pictures I posted, that would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I have a positive ID before eating them. From what I'm finding and am told thus far, I'm fairly confident they are the right kind. But it always helps to get as many opinions as I can before deciding to indulge. I appreciate. your time and input:-)

I recommend slicing thin and frying at high temperature in butter with a little salt and pepper. You will not cook out the good stuff.
