Normal Mycelial Growth?
    #19144814 - 11/16/13 10:42 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I spawned some rye to coco/verm last week sunday.  This is what the trays are currently looking like.  I believe everythings ok, but it does seem to be growing rather aggressively and possibly abnormally at the top.

Does it look alright or should I be worried?

Thanks!

Colonizing doesn't use FAE. Only the fruiting process uses FAE.

You going to add any substrate to that spawn?

Seriously though you didn't just pour the spawn on top did you because I see a lot of it.

I spawned 3 quarts of rye to 1brick coir and 2 quarts verm according to the bucket tek recipe w/o the bucket and mono.  You're suggesting a higher spawn:sub ratio?

Assuming you had mixed thoroughly when you spawned them and there still that many grains showing, yes. It's not necessary but it would make the most out of the limited spawn you do have in the future.
