Flu vaccine side effects?

I received a flu vaccine jab two or three days ago, can't remember. Now I feel groggy, nauseated, lethargic, aching and overall down but I don't have classic flu symptoms such as a fever or congested chest. Can a flu vaccine cause such side effects? A Google search turned up mixed results. The reason why I'm so concerned is because I'm on Clozapine which cause agranulocytosis to develop so illness symtpoms are a major concern.
Thanks

From the printout I got with my flu shot:
Quote:
Mild problems following inactivated flu vaccine:
- soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given
- hoarseness; sore, red or itchy eyes; cough
- fever
- aches
- headache
- itching
- fatigue
If these problems occur, they usually begin soon after the shot and last 1 or 2 days.
I definitely felt lethargic and tired for a couple days after my shot. No nausea though. Personally I'd give it another day or two, and if you don't start feeling noticeably better by then, call up your doc for a quick consult.

Cheers Ythan, big relief to hear that. I feel better today.

I remember hearing about this before. Think I'll avoid any "vaccines" from now on.

Just make sure and do your research. Vaccines are one of the great medical advances of our times. The serious side effects they talk about on that page affect only 1 - 2 people out of a million. That means if every man, woman and child in the US got the flu shot, there might be about 300 - 600 people who are hospitalized with a serious allergic reaction.
On the flip side, 200,000 people in the US are already hospitalized each year for the flu, and 3,000 - 49,000 people die from it. I like my odds a lot better with the shot. Plus, when you get vaccinated, you also contribute to herd immunity and help protect people like the elderly and the immunocompromised from getting sick.
Vaccines aren't perfect; they can sometimes have side effects and they aren't always 100% effective. But they are the best science has to offer and I encourage you not to avoid them.

Ythan doesn't post often, but when he does, it's nuggets of pure glory.
