Are You a Platonist or an Aristotelian? Another Quiz
    #19143625 - 11/16/13 12:26 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Except for being a dog person rather than a cat person, I am a straight up Platonist, but that's already been established. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and a tip of the hat to Samuel Taylor Coleridge for his astute dichotomy.

I scored an Aristotelian point for voting, which though I do largely think it's a waste of time, I'm compelled to do it anyways. I mean they are mail in ballots in Oregon FFS and I'm very optimistic that we will follow suit w/ Washington and legalize marijuana and gay marriage here....

Another Aristotelian point for paying my bills online, which I don't do to save time.  Paperless billing is more environmentally responsible...  I see this question as silly ageism that ranks most grandmothers as Platonists and about anyone in their 30s as Aristotelian... It's not precisely new technology I'm jumping on the bandwagon with... All the information is out there to do it safely... Use strong, unique  26 letter passwords and keep them in an encrypted database .

Everything else goes to Plato, w/ an extra point for owning a Prius...

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Pretty much all Plato except the jesus fish I think. What little I've heard of him always makes me think he sounds like an arsehole though if I can recall correctly.

Whoops! It was late when I posted that. I do pay most bills on line as a matter of fact. I didn't vote for years, probably because the first time I voted was for Nixon (only because he was doing away with the draft)! I mistrust all politicians, and also feel obligated to vote for the lesser of two evils as I see them. The love of power as we've all read, is opposed to the power of love. Obviously there must be those who govern, but Plato would be sad to see no philosopher-kings to speak of since his day.

I was imagining you paying your bills on paper, wearing specs and sitting in proper posture at a fancy dinner table.  Thanks for ruining it.

Nah. I have one intra-ocular lens so I don't wear glasses much except for driving. The dining room table is a hand-carved Mexican creation with all kinds of chiseled patterns on top that makes writing difficult. On the sofa, leg-rest up, with laptop Mac-Pro. Sorry for ruining the misconception.

Looks like a nitrous whippet down there underneath the right goblet.  Totally random.  Though upon closer inspection it looks to be made of glass.

Actually, it is a Mercury switch from a thermostat, a glass ampoule with metallic Mercury and a contact at each end (I snipped off the wires). It's symbolic of the alchemical Mercury (Spirit), along with Sulphur (Soul), and Salt (Body). I was really illustrating the chiseled table top though.
