Have LSD ever got you out of a slump?
    #19142737 - 11/15/13 08:49 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Has it ever made you from feeling like total shit, apathetic and emotionally numb, unable to find joy in life to being alive?

If not, have any psychedelics do that for you? Do anyone here have experience with depression and psychedelics showed you the way out? Or the way you needed to go to finally beat it?

I don't know. The thing I suffer from is just feeling empty inside. I feel like I don't even have any emotions and I feel like a robot everyday. I'd like to hang out with friends and such but I really do see no point in doing so. I still put my effort in, though, but... I really don't feel rewarded.

Can psychedelics help you out with that?

According to a study done at John Hopkins university, anti-depressant effects and mood elevation can be achieved even up to a year after ingestion of psilocybin. Volunteers were administered pure psilocybin under controlled conditions, and 94% reported that their personal relationships had gotten better, and they had a better outlook on life, long after the session.

Absolutely, and very recently at that! I've been struggling with depression especially badly over the last year, and on my last acid trip a few weeks ago, I had an amazing conversation with my best friend and felt so much LOVE that I could feel waves of healing. I've been significantly more productive and optimistic in planning for my future. My mood hasn't been this uplifted or stable in a long time.

About 3 months ago I lost everything, I'm not being dramatic either I was left wit the clothes I was wearing. I was incredibly depressed because of it I ended up staying at a old friends place who had recently got some 2c5 for a couple of weeks an everyday I was there I did 2c5 an 2c5 was not even a great drug or anything it caused a lot of muscle tension an the visuals didn't last very long but the state of mind that the drug put me in helped me get over my emotions an really analyze the situation an come up with a plan to get back on my feet if it wasent for 2c5 I probly would still be feeling sorry for myself I also had another experience where 25i helped me put a complicated relationship I was in into perspective in my experience these drugs can help you put your emotions aside an be objective towards your own situations and relationships and think a lot clearer about what you need to do to make things better for yourself instead of dwelling on your emotions

As an introvert, I am quite often introspective, whether it be shrooms, acid, etc. Very rarely have I taken them when I have a true problem that needs answering, as many times I avoid those times, but I have once or twice. When you take one of these and "go inside yourself" and think objectively on yourself and your situation, I find it helps you better understand your struggle underneath. It may not solve it, but it could pose an answer, or even a more important question you hadn't though of, and bring it to the surface for further reflection.

That's good to hear, man! I'd just love to hear more reassurance like this. How were you feeling prior to it? Emotionally numb? Unable to feel joy, happiness, fun?

Yeah, I've heard things like meditation could do that but meditation takes a lot of time and effort. And you just gotta be focused on it but not "forcing" yourself to do it. With all that time and focus devoted to meditating (even though it's probably not much at all needed), you'd be somewhat annoyed that you aren't seeing any results. But that shouldn't be the point of it, right? You shouldn't be forcing yourself.

Thanks  I'd like to hear more about your experience if you guys willing, as it interests me and makes me more reassured that things will be alright.

I know that these psychedelics aren't there to cure you or anything. I know that they aren't the one step solution to living a happy life, and I know that they might even make things worse. I'm aware of the possibilities and I know every individual is different when it comes to drugs. Something that worked for one may not work for another, but the more promising results I hear from others, the more I'm inclined to believe that things will turn out alright for me. If anything, I'd like to take a look at myself and ask me some questions as well.

I feel similar to you op and tripping has helped me fill that emptyness along with my wife and I feel like I have become a better person too but the feelings of emptiness are still sometimes there but I feel its from a lack og excitement and also from not being able to be completely honest with myself sometimes. I geel lime I know the solution its just kind of the last thing I woulf ever want to do
