I'm basically taking this trip to break up the monotony in my life. I'm also considering moving to Boston-but not until I get a feel for the city. My small town isn't as diverse as I wish it was and it's hard to meet like-minded people. Their aren't as many opportunities either.
I've never befriended anyone in a city or partied in a city actually. Only towns of less than 200,000 people so that would be cool.
I'll probably stay at a hostel and use couchsurfing to arrange a meetup or something.
And maybe go see purity ring or thundercat, walden pond,
and walk into an interesting harvard class if they don't require you to scan an ID card to get in.
but that's all I have planned. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or just go get lunch and hang or something? Mushroom hunting would be cool too.

Mushroom hunting in MA? Pretty tough I believe.
Ive been to boston a lot but idk what I would do.. Not much of a city man myself.
Nathaniel Hall and the Freedom trail are two big things to do.
The Aquarium in Boston is pretty freakin amazing, id def check that out!
People also like the Duck Boats i believe..
Id say try to befriend a lonely looking female for a day and run around the city. Coffee shop --> initiate conversation and tell her you need a tour guide.

yeah I've heard that's definitely worth checking out.

and this would be a viable option if I wasn't as introverted or weird.
I may try out a boston backpage prostitute if I build up the guts and gumption.

Being one who lives right outside Boston and done some hunting around here for the last couple years...Our season is basically over. Early fall you can find everything from Black Trumpets, to Oysters, to tons of Honey mushrooms (Both ringed and unringed). You might get lucky and find some Amanita Muscaria ver Guessii for "actives", but I'm pretty sure we've had enough freeze to prevent that.
Also, Harvard does require a Student ID unless it's a speaker going there open to the public. I've gone to a couple Geothermal energy discussions. It's pretty neat stuff.
Don't forget about the Museum of science. That place is pretty nifty if you're looking to spend some time somewhere cool.
If you're looking for more ideas, I know of plenty to do downtown.

Yeah I was halfway expecting that.

Do you happen to know of any other prestigious colleges that don't require ID to get into class?

That would be great. But I'm under 21 so bars are off limits. Which will make meeting people harder.
On that note, are people in Boston cold and unfriendly like I've read? I know it doesn't make much sense asking someone in the area but whatever.

There are a lot of good breweries around the area and if you can make it to Framingham, then Jack's Abby is a must.
edit: whoops sorry, didn't catch that last post.
