My last post has led me to ponder about this. If I opened a jar in my house that was contaminated what can I do to sterilize my house? Lysol? Open Windows?

you can't sterilize a house. But you can try and keep your spore loads down by not doing that.
In regard to damage control, it depends what the contam was. If bacterial your probably ok. If it was mold guess you could try giving all the surfaces a clean with some diluted bleach and don't do that again. If you need to save the jar, PC it first before opening.

Your best bet would be running a HEPA filter

Opening the windows would dilute the air to outdoor spore concentrations, so that's probably your second best bet

Lol I'm constantly flipping out on my wife for opening windows. She's like "I just wanted some fresh air". I'm like "do ya know how much mold your letting into the house"

haha, ok don't open the windows. Where did you guys find info about indoor/outdoor spore concentrations? I guess it makes sense that there would be more outside where everything gets wet.

Found this article
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2233941/
Looks like there's 2-3 times as much mold in outdoor air I apologize for my bad advice

Aside from the long standing advice of inoculating in still air hence the Still air box, there is trich in every inch of soil on the whole planet. Probably the worst combo possible. When I do my SAB work, I avoid having a window or door opened at least 30 mins anywhere in the house.
