I was told about a mushroom that grows completely under water called Psathyrella aquatica. While I'm sure some of you would consider this old news, but I was thrilled to hear about it and thought I'd share with those who, like me, aren't as informed as we wish we were.
I managed to locate a cool video. It's long, but you can fast forward. The mushroom section begins at about 18 minutes, or you can skip ahead to the underwater mushroom at about 24 minutes.

I was pretty amazed too when I read about these. It is impressive they can withstand the currents, considering Psathyrella are generally very flimsy and brittle.

Okay this is the first I've heard about these. Absolutely insane! I wonder how many other undescribed "aquatic" species there are.

These are my wifes favorite. When we lived in oregon she busted my ass trying to find them....we never did. LOL I believe they have only been found in oregon if I remember right.
