pins on the bottom of my cakes

my cakes have been in my FC for about a week now, by mistake i inoculated 1 pint jars instead of 1/2 pint jars. anyways I am seeing clusters of 5 and 6 all on the bottom of my tall cakes, all 6 of my cakes have pins on the bottom and there is only about 4 on top among all 6. Ive seen that some people flip their cakes, and that some people let them grow from the bottom; I think I should flip them and let the few on top grow from the bottom.. I have a shotgun set up with a bubbler wand on a timer for when Im not home.. maybe the pins are forming fro the FA of the FAE coming straight from the bubble wand? I still fan constantly..

it's gravity, it's drawin moisture to the bottom of your cakes, don't flip them

it doesn't mean i need to distribute moisture more evenly? i bought a cheap hygrometer to gauge the humidity, but I am pretty sure i wrecked it trying to calibrate it. I've been intending to get a better one.

the humidity that matters most is on the surface of your cakes, watch for the glisten to go away before misting again

yeah after you mist you will see the diffrence in color of the surfce, as moisture evaporates off your cake it gives you 100 rh on the surface regardless of the rh in the rest of your fc

ok i will leave them the way they are.. there is pins forming on the top, just not nearly as many as the bottom so i thought it may have been a humidity factor. ill wait till the gold shine dims from the substrate before steady misting. ive had like 30 pins form in the last 18 hours, this is exciting for me being m first grow.

It's normal sometimes to fruit from the bottom, especially with the wrong size cakes. Leave them to decide what's best and don't flip them. RR
