I don't raise stupid house pets, so I never need to get rid of them.

I hate when people unknowingly encourage unwanted behavior, and then blame it on the animal. Ofc there is the chance the animal is destined to be untrainable, these ones stay outside.

My cat is house trained, goes bathroom outside and doesn't even need a litter box.

Ok some of your responses are hilarious.

She loves sleeping on top of the SGFC I have, which is totally ok. I'm coming to the conclusion that I should just ditch the monotubs and go with smaller trays inside of SGFC since those are safe. I've come home to her lying on top of the monotub with her arms and legs dangling down into the holes. It's not an attention thing, she has a fetish for dangling her legs (she often does this on top of the shower door as well). I'm just happy that (so far) she hasn't tried to eat any.

Don't worry, I'm not going to zap her or put her in a cage. Since I'm taking exactly what I'd be putting into a monotub and splitting it into several trays, I'd assume my yield would be the same.

Thanks for all of the responses!!

you realize, if ya could get the cat to sleep on the tub,
BEFORE it was an SGFC , you could solve 2 problems at once,
by making it an SGFC..............

cats are only shit if you don't train them and/or spend time with them. It's just like dogs, you can't just get a dog and not do any training whatsoever while rarely spending time with it, and expect it to be a pleasurable animal. If you've never ''taught'' your cat that some areas are not acceptable, then they will never understand that concept when they get older.

Untrained dogs are MILLIONS of times worse than untrained cats, like just wow. I'd much rather have a cat that completely ignores me, then a dog that tears into stuff nonstop, knocks shit over with his bulky body, barks all the time, and continuously jumps up on people being an annoying shithead.

a very well trained dog can be great, but even then it can be annoying. I realize some people enjoy having an animal that persistently demands attention from you, but I much prefer cats on average. 95% of dogs sit there just BEGGING you to pet them or feed them or give them attention, that's not endearing to me at all.

But on a helpful note, if you really want to do something about it, the cheapest way would be to just zone the monotubs off with some sort of wire fencing or the like. Obviously it'd have to be sturdy enough to where she can't pull it apart or it breaks apart if she jumps on top of it. This way you could keep your monotubs, most likely keep the area you're currently growing in, and not have to really change anything around too drastically.

sounds like youre scared of dogs.  its easy to train a dog you have to let it know whos boss and actually strike it, and cats piss stinks and they wont protect your property or children.  just piss and shit in the house with its stink

Jackson Galaxy recommends this.  SSSCat Spray.

www.youtube.com/v/R_8mafoOsdA&fs=1&autoplay=1

Your cat is bored.  If they're an indoor cat only then they need to have constructive play time.

People think cats are zero maintenance.  Some are.  But they do get bored being locked up all day.

Go to a pet store and buy a feather on a string / stick.  Play with the kitty 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes on your lunch, and 10 - 30 minutes at night (try to tucker them out.)

I made these changes and started using constructive playtime. They are no longer bored and they are thrilled to see me every time I get home.  When they know playtime is coming they will be better behaved.

I highly recommend the show 'My Cat From Hell' starring Jackson Galaxy. The guy is a fucking cat whisperer and he knows his shit.  Even watching a few episodes will help you to better understand your cats psychology.

Lol all cats do this dude.  I assume you have a cat door that lets them come and go when they please?

Even if they only go out / come in when you open the door they will still hold it until you let them out. Especially if you let them out at regular times.

But yeah, as a kid my family always had indoor-outdoor cats.  My dad even built a set of cat stairs so they could leave through a half open window in the garage.

Given the choice, cats will always shit outside.  I've never met a cat that went outside once a day that needed a litter box.

lmao I'm not scared of dogs, and I've owned and trained my own dogs.

It's not even really worthit trying to make a point, because I understand that some people enjoy the energy and neediness that a lot of dogs have. Some people just want a chill animal that mostly takes care of itself. Either you prefer dogs or you prefer cats.

I'd love to have another dog again someday, but since I currently don't have the space or time to properly raise a dog, I'll have to wait. You really have to put a lot of effort into a dog before it's an enjoyable animal to own. You should put a decent amount of effort into a cat as well, but I wouldn't really call it ''training'' more so as just ''raising'' it properly.

btw my cat is awesome, and knows how to listen to a simple ''no'', as well as understanding ''get down''. Cats can be stubborn, there's no doubt about that, but it's more their huge amount of curiosity that gets the best of them. Simply stating ''No'' a couple times, she gets the idea and will stop whatever she is doing.

:whathesaid:

People that consider pitbulls good pets only wanted a pitbull for one reason. Anybody who actually has a brain to think with that wants a guard dog goes with rottweilers because they are tame.

I hate it when people do not raise black labs well, they become a handful to say the least. Old labs that have calmed down are the coolest dogs though imo.

Had to take care of a friends boxer for a month, huge mistake. This dog would go for all day walks mushroom hunting with me and come home and still jump off the walls, it had the worst manners as well.

My buddy had to take care of his dads dog for a bit and almost got kicked out of his apartment because it would bark for 5 minutes every time somebody knocked on the door.

Training a dog has nothing to do with punishment, but the way you raise it. I am sorry to say but young kids and pets do not mix at all, it is funny to make the comparison to parents with rambunctious uncollected kids also have uncontrollable dogs humping at your legs. Probably an alcoholic father that thinks its funny to smack his dog around and then beat it when it steals food from the baby.

Pets are like friends that mooch off of you lol
