You need a CD to reinstall windows if your replacing the hard drive. If your just cleaning your computer just factory restore it.

Maybe, but probably not. Try to revert Windows to a working state by using the system restore function.

It's possible to download ISO images of windows 7 without using pirate sites, look for the "digital river" windows 7 downloads. The hosting site was authorized by MS to host them but it's not really publicized. You will still need a legit product key.

My system keeps freezing up after being on for a couple hours. The last couple times it did this, it would not even boot into the BIOS screen after restarting. I had to unplug the power connector from the boot hard drive, then plug it back in... Then it will boot up normally, and work for a couple hours. Something is wrong with that drive, but still, that is one of the weirder work arounds I've had to do in a while.

i have 2 windows 7 so cds downloaded from the old demnoide.me . I just deleted windows 7 via a live cd of G parted., whch then gave me a boot loading problem that fixed with a live cd of ubuntu and using boot repair. So Anyways, theres something called 'linux swap' portioned on my harddrive.. Should i delete? a sda portion of windows7 shows on the grub menu even thou windows7 is deleted..
Pulled the files i wanted to save into ubuntu btw

Linux Swap partition is equivalent to Windows Page file. It's used to store copies of memory that's not currently being used by the system, to free up memory for new programs to use. If you delete that, the system won't be able to use virtual memory, and unless you have a lot of RAM installed on your machine, that could become a real problem.

No; see Andy's post.

Because GRUB hasn't been updated. You can do this from Ubuntu. Google 'modify GRUB boot menu' or something similar for more info.
